As I understand it the only way out of this debt is to grow the economy. We can't grow the economy with outrageous interest rates. Interest rates which also make the nation's debt harder to service. Is this correct ?

Nonsense. An interest rate of 6 percent should be normal. It gives lenders enough room to earn a reward for risk. Quantitative easing, which is what you're advocating, puts all the cost onto taxpayers.

@@id10t98 Studies have shown that about some percentage people find ways to not pay taxes. Different investments etc. It don't work and it's not fair. A while back I seen something where the US would have enough money if the IRS simply collected what it was due. No new taxes. That was maybe 10 or 20 years a go.
