This is cool! I have some custom hand made speakers that was made 27 years ago and they still sound great better than anything you can buy from a store. Mine are 18" Woofers, Midrange Horn & Tweeters. The only thing I had to replace was the Midrange in 27 years. A friend of mine built them for me. I treated the wood with polyurethane with about five coats to bring the details of the wood out.

I'd say that though it all looks a bit rough and ready, judge them by how precise they are with their tools, not how precise it LOOKS like they are. These guys have done this, many many many times and it shows. I am a cabinet and kitchen builder and I was thinking about making some ply cabinets for a hobby, and I was shocked at first, then amazed by the precision these guys have with simple tools, practice and dexterity. At 6:57 I rewound it many times to see if he had a jig to make it that precise, but no, he does that freehand. Mental.

If you want to save money, a good alternative to Durex coating is first spray your primer coat then take some thin rubber strips and throw it in a blender. Mix the rubber grains in black paint then..ta da you have poor man's Durex. Playground sand works too but then you end up with sandpaper cabinets that scuff everything you come in contact with ,like vehicle doors ect.

Awesome video. Just a couple of nitpicking things: 1. The shop looks like it's a mess. Trash everywhere, especially outside. And in the background you can see lots of half-finished/ disassembled speakers. What's up with that? and 2. It looks like the input plate was installed upside down. With any speaker, and especially line arrays, you want to the cables to be going UP into the box and not down. This is important for water run off etc.. for outdoor shows. 3. I didn't see any "loctite" in the video. Some of those bolts on the rigging hardware were hand-tightened, which wouldn't be a big deal if you used some type thread locker like "loctite" or some generic brand. Safety is #1. But overall, great video!

There was a BUNCH of sketchy stuff: watching the drill slip and mark the sides of the grill. The wiring putting pins 1+ & 2+ together?! Really? Not a great cabinet finish, needs a much better coat, that will scuff off quickly. Line array horn has to be the full height of the cab to couple with the cabs on either side otherwise comb filtering. And then there's no ventilation in the shop, tools from 1960, just basic homemade speakers.

Not how he sound checked them they aren't. Those are designed to lay flat and stack several in a vertical array, connected by the sturdy metal frames on the ends of the cabinet.

The finishing quality is very poor. Some of the screws were crushed when I hit them. There's a scratch on the screw, and there's a wooden case, and there's a scratch on it. The finishing quality looks terrible.

I built speakers professionally for years. I would not have accepted that as "Pro Audio" level of quality on the cabinets or the design. Ports are not tuned, no wave guide, two way only....scale of 5 I give them a 3.5

Về hình thức . Mạch phân tần cũng như loa bass treble đều ok. Tuy nhiên chỉ có phần lỗ thông hơi cho loa cần phải tính toán lại. Cạn như vậy thì chỉ để làm loa lời chứ ko cộng hưởng được tiếng bass
