Thanks Jason! I've been a bit obsessed with understanding camera stuff lately.

Worth to note is generally all speakers sound better if they are more than 2ft out from the wall, even if they have a front port or no port. Because we dont want the echo from the speaker to the wall to reach our ears within 5ms of the original signal as the brain cannot separate it as an echo, so the result is a bit of a muddy sound.

Yes, great point. There is so much more to the setup of speakers that revolves around acoustics.

@@goldenearaudioreview4904I wish I had the room to pull them out lol. I have little ones and I have to put stuff up to keep them out of reach of the equipment. Perhaps one day I'll have a dedicated listening space..... One can dream anyway.

@@arena_rock_man9030 I too have them bunched up to the walls, I have a small flat so cannot have them out unfortunately

Totally, that was me for many years.

@@bingoberra18 Totally agree! I actually chose a 55-in TV rather than the wanted 65, mainly because my front ported sonus Faber sonetto's would have been forced to be moved closer to the wall! Can't you rearrange your furniture? I also have a small flat and even know I practically fall over the bastard speaker every time I come in, it's a well worth it! On a positive side, I'm forced to slow things down... kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqfHonxrpr-UbMk

What do you think about vintage amps / speakers ? good video btw :p
@goldenearaudioreview49043 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They can be excellent values. A good speaker from the 70s is still going to sound pretty great now assuming it hasn't worn out. I enjoy the large diameter drivers they tend to use.

@@goldenearaudioreview4904 My father loves vintage hifi, I don't really like vintages speakers, at least not my father's speakers haha, but old amps are AMAZING ! I use a Scott A 437 right now with a pair of Triangle Zerius 902, it's really nice !
@goldenearaudioreview49043 жыл бұрын
There are some amazing old speakers but they are fewer do time time wiping them out. JBL, RSL, Infinity and Klipsch all have some amazing speakers that have stood the test of time. Like any other time, there is a bunch of junk out there too. Stereos and amps are great from that era. Enjoy! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Yeah this is a good set-up for centre imaging but personally I find my room sounds better when my stereos are spread! Plus in my experience if one has got capable speakers one is able to have a huge sweet spot.
@goldenearaudioreview49042 жыл бұрын
When you say your stereos are spread do you mean your speakers or are you talking about the electronics?
@Totalplonker2 жыл бұрын
@@goldenearaudioreview4904 yes I was referring to the stereo speakers. Rather having the recommended perfect triangle...I find by having extra-wide speaker placement, it actually opens up the options of being to lie on either end of my couch! (Ok the imaging might not be as good but it's still there) Plus when I walk around my little flat I have a better off axis listening experience! Perfect for those who are a little bit of a busy body 🥳 (like myself)
