Weird question, but if I’m hitting the stereo and the sound starts working again (temporarily) does that mean the problem is with the wiring to my actual stereo and not to the speakers?

I was having an issue with the driver’s side speaker (no sound). I switched the speaker to the passenger side and it worked so I knew it had to be in the wiring. I took it to a audio shop where they just spliced the wire and it worked. In hindsight when I switched the speakers I should also have used the wire that connects to the speaker which is a short wire with a connector. That wire is sold separately by Crutchfield and Amazon. That would have eliminated the wire splicing. Oh well live and learn.

I don't know what happened to my car speaker. But it used to be that only right side have sound, and randomly it's only left side that have sound now.

can you check volts at the speaker connection toverify proper voltage and therefore the speaker should work if not then its bad if not getting proper voltage could be stereo or wiring?

If I wanna install aftermarket speakers but I don't know which cable is positive and negative coming from the door to the speakers, how do I identify which cable is the right polarity? I'm tired of videos showing with the 9v battery how to testvthe speaker for polarity, but how do you test door speaker cables polarity?

On my 2000 dodge ram 1500 all three of my speakers work except for the one right behind the driver. I just put a new aftermarket speaker in and wouldn't make any sound at all, The plan was to fix both back speakers.

2004 Honda Civic very little sound on both left front and left back speakers tried the balance & fade set both to center position. Could it be a blown fuse for left side speakers or a wiring issue here. Of course sound places want to replace radio & all 4 speakers rather than locate the problem with what I already have installed because it`s factory. any suggestions or ideas Thanks & cheers

I love 1A Auto parts and your service videos are great. However, car audio is an art form unto itself. There are many other KZbin channels that are devoted just to car audio--I'd recommend one of those for sorting out audio issues.

My rear speakers in a 2006 f350 are not working I just replaced the front and ordered front and rear with the factory connecters to make everything easier well i put the rear speakers in and got no sound what so every then when i mount the speaker cause i was going to get to it another day the speaker grounded out and made the front speakers not work and a dc fault should up on the head unit. How do i figure out the problem? I had to un plug the rear speaker and unplug the headunit to clear the fault and get the front speakers to start playing again. Do you think its the head unit that is wired wrong?

Why don't you recommend using a 9 volt to test the speaker?

it will damage the speaker if you do it too often, speakers normally only get a few volts at max volume.

I have a 2005 Toyota Avalon with a built-in surround sound system. The Aiden subwoofer on the deck was blown so I cut the wires for the subwoofer and when I was going to grab the tape to tape up the ends of the wires I touched the wires together and now I have no sound on the interior speakers but the radio turns on and I can change stations. I checked all of the fuses even the ones that don't have to do with the radio because I know sometimes other fuses can have an effect on other systems, but there are no blown fuses in the car whatsoever. Any idea what the problem is? There was an obvious burn smell after I touch the two wires together which I've smelled before but I'm really perplexed that there are no blown fuses

Hi, I need some pieces of advice, I bought this 508 2012 model it has RT6 unit. I checked everything but the last thing I thought about is the speakers honestly. I checked each one after a week and it turns out only 1 is working as it should which is the right back speaker. It has 2 speakers in each door and all the other onces are extremely quiet and if I set volume all the way up it doesn't crackle or anything, just quiet. It's not a software thing and I'm wondering snice I've just got done paying for it, I'm not financially stable for some time. is there any solution please? I need help

@@1AAuto do you have any information on how to fix the 2014 Ford focus radio problem? This sadly is a common problem in these cars and I can’t find a solution that is clear-cut and don’t want to take it to the dealership because they aren’t taking responsibility for what should be a recall. The main problem is the scary loud popping and static feedback sounds that can happen even when the car is not on at all, also other problems related to the alert system saying my trunk is open. Sometimes the radio works and sometimes it doesn’t and that is completely unrelated to the scary sounds that can range from semiquiet to ear bursting loud! Someone please help

Ok so I just randomly did a fade balance test in my car as i always do and my front passenger side speaker is very low and has no bass. It has never been like this. Ally speakers are powered by amp so i changed the wires between a different channel and the speaker did the same thing. So is a sign of a blown speaker

Ok. 2011 chevy traverse. I'm sick of every time Rains. Cold. Etc. My speakers stops working. Back up beep alarm. Ignition sound when key is inserted. Etc. But. Not the twitters. ( top of dash on sides.) Those works all the time. So.. planing to replace to an aftermarket stereo. Question. My new stereo. Has not the wires for. Key Ignition. Back up beep. Lights. Etc. Will I loose the Ignition key sound and back up beeps if install my new stereo??? I really need the stereo for phone calls ( with the adapter Bluetooth to cigarette lighter) tuned to a clear radio station.) To my phone. Hopefully you can help me. Before I take action. Or should I buy a stereo with all that extra crap. Thanks. I hope you respond.

what about the oem woofers? I have a 2013 FR-S and the door woofers do not work. I have replaced the amp. nothing. I have replaced the HU. nothing. factory amp has constant 12 volts. I think maybe theres supposed to be a remote wire, but I cant seem to find anything about it. any suggestions??

Well I only replace speakers in cars because I just don't think the stock speaker is up to date with the moisture and all that but usually I'll use the stock car speakers in another project if it's a decent speaker me I like to use only Ford explorer speakers I figured those ones work best because they have like no special mounting bracket you know you can take them off the mounting bracket and they're the only speaker they still have a metal piece on but with that car there how you can prevent your speakers from dissolving or stuff like that there's something you can buy it's called like speaker it's like a treating stuff you should buy it from simply speakers and go over all your car speaker cones and your car speakers surrounds of the cones and your speaker will last 50 years if you can you know keep that car that long so usually what happens is your phone surrounds going to break down with time but if you put a speaker treatment on the cone or the surround both of them I recommend doing the wizard cone too it looks shining kind of weird but it'll sound good for a long time and The cone won't dry out as easily because I've had car speakers look like total crap because the cone is so dry is when you play the music it just falls apart especially with your 83 suburban speakers your front speakers are just going to turn into a pile of crap so I just recommend replacing those front speakers and your rear speakers cuz the voice calls like to shoot right through the spire spiders that's the suspension piece that holds it's a second suspension piece in your speaker

May I try to not use the original speaker like yeah it sounds great but it uses a paper cone that will break down way easier but I really don't buy car speakers from like Walmart or any places like that cuz those speakers are designed to fail they're decent speakers yeah from Walmart but the time that the second suspension is going to wear down and the voice go able to shoot right through it or b ill jam in the voice coil Gap

If are you suburban car speakers are like the worst speaker to leave in your car don't leave those stock speakers trust me yeah they may sound good but eventually you're going to have to take that door panel off but if you turn those things up real loud usually what will happen is you have your surround which is the upper suspension then you'll have something called a spider which is your lower suspension and then the voice coil of that suburban car speaker will usually shoot through the bottom suspension
