Actually, I'm more disappointed with PM Lee not acting swiftly in 2020 and letting the matter dragged until now than the actual affair itself. If not for the hot mic incident, this would probably drag longer or may never come to light. With the hot mic incident, PM Lee has no choice but to quickly cut TCJ off since people will zoom into TCJ, and it's only a matter of time when someone undercovers the affair. As a Malaysian, I have always held the view that the Singapore Politicians are above board and really practice good governance and of a class of your own, better than what we have here in Malaysia. Where anything goes. Sadly, I see that the Singapore Members of Parliament are also susceptible to temptations and not so squeaky clean. Past leaders of Singapore were really of the no-nonsense type. Like the late Lee Kuan Yew. Lee Hsien Loong is not. I hope that this scandalous turn of events will not lead to further erosion of your political parties integrity. Sadly, our Malaysian Parliament is still plagued by all kinds of crude behaviour of those who call themselves as 'The Honorable' when they are not. It's going to be hard to refer to your once august House of Parliament as this region's best example of how MP's should behave. Hopefully things will get back to what it was before. My sympathies...they are humans given to human passions. They did not commit a crime or were corrupt. It was an issue of Ethics. It is tough enough to be in the public eye...every movement, every word is under the spotlight. If ever, an MP throws a temper in public or is embroiled even in a road accident, etc. it would have made the news. Humans are not infallible. Plenty of examples overseas of resignations due to a mispoken word. Thankfully, Singapore is well run by an excellent Civil Service. We need to move on.... humans cannot be saints.
