Thank you, Rebecca! I would like to ask for some guidance in understanding how to properly use "neither... nor" I have in mind these three situations. 1/ I never promised, neither to call, nor to come... 2/ I did not promise, neither to come, nor to call... 3/ I did not promise, neither to come, nor to call, nor to write. Many thanks.

Dear Rebecca: thank you a lot for your brilliant explanation ... Nevertheless there is something I'm not sure I've got right: when you say that when you want to agree with someone you must reply "so do I", etc. ., I understand that you are actually not agreeing with that person; instead, what you are really saying is that you are doing or performing the same action that person is doing, or did. I'll try to explain myself through an example: "yesterday I went to the movies" to which I replied, "so did I". Now, what I'm really saying is that "I did go to the movies as well, just like he or she did". I always thought that the verb "to agree" had another meaning, like when you agree with someone's opinion, as in "I believe in God", and I reply, "I agree with you", meaning that I also believe in God. If I don't believe in God, I should reply something like "I don't agree with you", or "I don't". In case of the latter I couldn't say "neither do I" as you explained. I'm aware it may look or sound a little bit confusing, but I really hope I could have passed the idea of what I'm trying to say ...
