@@pascalgotlib1781that makes sense. From what I understand Cajun French is essentially based off French from 300 years ago when they immigrated over. Then add a mix of English, Spanish, and Native American words to it..

That impromptu exchange between the locals, you and your parents...thrilling! So heart-warming. And I never get enough of seeing your love for the creatures you encounter. There was no store as big as the one you were shopping in back then that’s for sure! It was a much smaller town at the time. There is no place like southern Louisiana and the people who reside there. Salut Marie 😁 🌊 🐢 ✨ Gorgeous Scenery It's So Serene , Yeah!! Grillin & Chillin. Those guys sure were passionate & looked like they knew how to handle a Gator. A interesting exchange , it seems like you picked up on everything they said. It Must have been a Thrill for the Family to meet some Authentic Cajuns having a Renewed Appreciation for the Language. 🇫🇷 Pierre Part Looks like a Quaint & intriguing Place , I heard a lot of Dads like to take there Kids Frogging for Catfish there. The Store got them Thangs , what's a Boston butt you say , it's a favorite tender Pork roast. It's got everything under one roof & probably is good value for money. You were Styling those 👢 like you stepped out of the swinging 60s. Yummy Xmas 🍮 😋 I liked the Memorial Statue in the Park with the Critters , the one time mayor " Doc " Brownell had a shrimp boat made of wood that didn't weather well. A steel - hulled replica was built in 68 & continues to serve as a Iconic landmark that's decorated every year with a Cajun Santa ( Lee Romaire ) , his elves & led by Rein - Gator's. Morgan City also famous for it's backdrop for many Hollywood movies like Tarzan that was filmed in the Swamps , the first silent movie to gross a $1M , others include Thunder Bay (53) , Easy Rider (69) . The Fire Next Time (TV 93) , All the Kings Men (2006) , The Yellow Handkerchief (2008) & Deep water Horizon in 2016. It's also known for it's MLB'S ⚾ Players like Bill Burgo outfielder for the Philadelphia Athletics , Sidney Allen Gautreaux , catcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers & Eddie Dyer Pitcher with the St Louis Cardinals & second rookie manager to win the world series. Going by the Map , it would be a fun Adventure to go Kayaking. The Belle River Historical Society have there own Facebook page. Sorry you didn't come across any wildlife , that's the weather for you but it's neat to get up close to some 🌿 , the Choctaw Indians were the first to make a powder File made from the dried Sassafras Leaves that's sprinkled on Gumbo to thicken it. The 🔔 Tower was impressive & the Flowers by the shore were Pretty. Nice Shot of the Heron looking right at home , that baby bird was so swift & skillful. From what you showed , the Locals must be very Resilient & made of Sterner Stuff to withstand all the Flooding over the Decades. Geno Blanchard gives a fascinating insight into what life been like growing up there in " The Early Years" that you can read on the museum website. Those Red Ants meant business , don't get to close because they have a painful sting. It would be something to see if you had a surgery treat. There Arch - enemy is the Black Ant. Pelican's are Cool to Film Reflecting off the Bayou. It's Wonderful to see the SkyCam back in Action , when you have a Wider Perspective on everything you Appreciate it's Beauty that much more. I Happy your Louisiana Adventures lived up to your expectations , Superb editing & enjoyable music , it's been a Blast so far Highlighting a Way of Life that doesn't always get the Respect it Deserves. Looking forward to the Next Part , Passez une Semaine Fantastique , Were Winning , A New Era is about to Begin , God Bless the Republic , Take care Marie , Au Revoir 🐸 🤗 💗 🇺🇸✌️

The French speaking area of Maine is all the way at the top. Van Buren, Madawaska, Allagash, Frenchville, Dickey, etc.... I lived in Caribou for quite a while and while there are French speakers there, if you went North just a little it was majority French speaking. It is becoming less and less so now. 25-30 years ago you didn't hear a lot of English spoken in some of the communities up there.
