Speaking ONLY GERMAN to my AMERICAN GIRLFRIEND for 24 Hours!

Deana and Phil

5 жыл бұрын

Phil talks to Deana ONLY in German for 24 hours.... The struggle is REAL! This is a challenge that has been going around for a while now and we wanted to give it a try. We usually speak English together with a few basic German words here or there. Deana does not speak German, so this was a very difficult, exhausting and funny day! Hope you enjoy :)

This video was two years ago. It is always enlightening to compare what a person could understand in the past, and what one understands now. I have studied German for almost 50 years, and I still have trouble following detailed conversations, particularly when discussing abstract concepts. All one can do it listen, and listen, and try again. Viel Gluck, Deana!

Very entertaining - thank you. 👍 👍 👍 That looked pretty hard - but it will all be worth it! I learned Welsh and found it quite difficult. There were weekly sessions where only Welsh was allowed in the classroom, which helped a great deal. It was difficult at first, but became much easier over time because in the first lesson you had to learn everything from scratch. Phil speaking German to you for an hour or two, asking you basic questions and testing you conversationally is a good way to quickly increase your vocabulary and to practice what you already know - but doing it all day, for now at least, looks like it's probably a bit much. However, it was good fun to watch! 😃

Oh that's awesome! Learning another language is challenging, but so rewarding too! 😍 I think I will need some type of course to get the grammar correct. This was definitely a little much for now, but we want to incorporate more daily German speaking. It's easy for us to be lazy and just speak English, but no time for that! Thanks for watching!! 🤗💜
