Start using Speakly today, you can try it out for free for 7 days, and get a 60% discount if you join the annual subscription: speakly.app.link/couchpolyglot
Today we are talking about the app "Speakly", which was created by two polyglots who speak 7 languages. While testing it, I did have the feeling that it was created by someone who knows what to focus on to be successful when learning a language.
This is a sponsored video, but I am being honest in the review and focussing on the things that I personally liked most. As you know, I only review products or apps that I would actually recommend :)
In case you want to try it out, it is available on both web and mobile (Android and iOS), so you can use it on the go or also from your couch ;)
00:00 - What is Speakly and who created it?
01:00 - Why do I like it?
02:04 - My favourite feature
04:07 - Use music to learn
05:10 - Grammar feature
06:56 - So, what is Speakly best for? And what feature will I not use and why?

Hi Laura! It looks nice, I'm going to try it. A while ago i tried a similar app with a female name ❄️ and I don't know, I just didn't like it.

So no Catalan? sigh. Recently moved to Girona from Texas and was hoping for an ap that would go from English to Catalan. So far, all I've found was Monday, are there others you'd recommend?

In today's video I am going to talk about LingQ, it does have some material for Catalan, maybe you can check it out? My video will be published in a few hours, hope it is useful ☺️

did you learn english with lingopie?
@CouchPolyglot
@CouchPolyglot 11 ай бұрын
When I learned English, Lingopie did not exist (or I did not know about it???), I learned the basics at school and then kept learning by translating my favourite songs and reading Harry Potter (7 books!) in original version, also watching movies/series in English

Tous IS hard. I have a degree in French and I'm still struggling with the pronunciation of tous when I have to talk fast - the pronunciation (whether you pronounce the S or not) depends on what it is used as (and it can be used as 100 things - an indefinite adjective, an adverb, a noun, an indefinite pronoun, neutral pronoun ...). If you speak a lot, you will just get used to using it properly (if you pay attention) - it will just become ingrained that if it's followed by les, then you never pronounce the s (without even thinking about the fact that it is because this means it's used as an adjective), but if you say nous sommes tous là, you pronounce it (without thinking that here it's a pronoun and that's why you pronounce it). But I don't get to speak it enough, so I have reached a point where I can read a book and my brain freezes when it sees "tous" because it is not sure how to pronounce it in my head. :D

At 4:17, and again at 6:57, you mispronounced "pronunciation" as "pronounce-iation", this is a common confusion, even amongst native English speakers, but beware: it really hurts the ears and it sounds backward and/or ignorant. Seriously. Correct this.

she said it correctly lmao, she said "if I read it once" (present simple) which is followed by future simple, that means a more probable situation. You should focus on YOUR English
