I remember Oksana as well, and an American cry baby named Tonya Harding. 🤣🤣🤣

Oksana' story was quite amazing. She was from a very poor family. She won Ukraine's first gold medal as an independent country. Quite an inspiring story, at the time, lost and way in the background to the tabloid sensation of the Harding/ Karrigan fiasco.

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky from Dnipro. She co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875. She still have an enormous impact on modern spirituality outside the established religions. Through her teachings and her books. She was a real pioneer. More than 200 years ahead of her time. 🙏❤️🇺🇦

Heck yeah, Ukraine has a long history of badass women. My first exposure to that was Lyudmila Pavlichenko-- he best sniper on the planet in ww2. When I was researching her, I learned that she was just one example. Ukraine was decades ahead of everyone else integrating women into the military. I can't know what being female is like in Ukraine, but from the outside looking in, the chicks seem to be the country's secret weapon.

I have picked a number of fights with people who badmouth Ukrainians in general... and when that's directed at Ukranian women, I get even angrier. I'm lucky to have a number of Ukrainian women as my friends and I have huge respect for them. I can barely imagine the pressure they're under, and they bear it with dignity and grace.

Nowadays I have many Ukrainian women amongst my friends. Wonderful personalities and dedicated mothers trying to raise their children in foreign society. I highly respect them. And also those women, who are still in Ukraine trying to carry on daily life under fullscale war and those women at the front fighting against крвїна 404. Слава Україні! Героям слава! 🇺🇦💙💛

I am so sorry about the bigoted idiots out there. Ukrainian women are amazing. I am tutoring a young lady from Lviv in English and she surprises me every week with her knowledge. It's so hard to come up with something to teach that she doesn't already know. She holds more seniority in her job at 26 than I do at 40. I am seriously humbled. Слава Україні

Привіт Інна. You have made an excellent video. Ukrainian women are strong, resourceful, talented, and compassionate. I love and respect your channel and the work you do. My online language учителка, Марія Яремчук, Learn Ukrainian, is also a strong defender and teacher of the beautiful Ukrainian language, Ukrainian history and culture. She helped me find my grandfather's village when I was in Ukraine August 2021. I am proud of her and of you. Україна переможе.

I think the greatest case is to be made not about the famous Ukrainian women, but about the "every day heroes" - the women who are living and working every day under terrible conditions and danger, raising their children as single parents, and doing many volunteer activities to help their country and their fellow citizens, while still presenting themselves with grace and elegance. Most of the Ukrainian women I know are working at multiple jobs and multiple other roles. The pressure of this would kill me!

Another comment on this page says Слава героїні! Google Translate says that means "Glory to the heroine!" When I input "Glory to the Ukrainian woman it comes back with "Слава українській жінці". I would love for Inna to make a video about that.
