If she *happens* to topple a statue in a temple, she could be cursed to become a were-creature-and while that might seem crazy, after her transformation, I believe her body is totally healed. That said, can a dwarf that can’t grasp topple statues?

So, I wonder if Wisp is able to work as a dancer at the tavern, at a temple as a priest or work at a library? Seems like she can't if she can't even trade, tough that might just be down to her bad mood and not queuing the job early enough. Might be something she can do? Hey, she might be a great hammerer or justice dwarf maybe? No smashing heads in for that one! Or the dedicated architect for the fortress? For people that don't play dwarf fortress; its technically possible to get Wisp her hand back but it would make it entirely impractical to have her in the fortress. See, when a creature transform (and transform back) they regrow all limbs. So if you find a way to transform Wisp, she would be cured. Issue is that the only transformation that you as a player can reliably control is the werebeast transformation. Think werewolf. She would then transform every full moon and be completely uncontrolable during her transformation, but she would regrow her limps. The other option is transformations like the ones done by necromancer experiments, like that unfortunate first guests, the former goblin. However, those are done during history generation off screen, there is no known way to make it happen to someone in the fortress. I guess that its theoretically possible that if you banish someone they could end up in a necromancer tower and get transformed offscreen during play, but how one would make that happen, and if its actually possible, I don't know. Basically, there is not much that can be realistically done for Wisp without badly cursing her in other ways. Only positive is the taverns where she can be force fed alcohol by the tavern keeper, might make her happy.

Regarding Stakud showing up again...I notice that she seems to be traveling ever more northward each time. And that she's going to places that have a violent reputation or at least a reputation of making tough dwarves (the elven wars of North Bridge, the monsters of Spearcavern). It's almost as if she's trying to make herself powerful enough to go back up to the Northern Reaches to finish what her departed companions failed to do. Perhaps the scars from her time up north run deeper then we suspect? Perhaps when Adventure Mode comes out, we'll see her set off from Spearcavern to try and do just that, maybe?
