My favorite time to travel through Spearfish Canyon is in the early morning. Sunup with the sun hitting spots along the way is stunning and beautiful. The best part. No traffic. I don’t go to the Black Hills during rally time in August. Too noisy.

Spearfish Canyon is one of our favorite places. It looks like some people have already mentioned Devil's Bathtub, too. It's a short one mile hike. From where you were in that parking lot, you just have to walk down a short ways to get to the trailhead. You cross the creek multiple times until you get to a swimming area with a natural slide, and that's Devil's Bathtub. It's pretty cool. 😍

Most people pan way too fast yet your deliberate pan and tilts do not let the viewer get confused. Especially loved the wildlife portions and the stunning scenery. Both you and Abby are enthusiastic.

From what I’ve heard Spearfish Falls is spring-fed, so unlike most waterfalls the water volume is pretty consistent throughout the summer.

There is a horseshoe-shaped waterfall in Spearfish canyon that has a grotto in the middle of it with lots of smallish rocks you can stand on (the water is COLD). My friends Mark and Lynn got married there in the early '90s.

Thanks for coming to South Dakota and filming your adventure. I noticed you were at Devil's Bathtub next time when your here for a week fallow the trail of the creek there is a hike to get to it but the Bathtubs everyone swims in you will know your there when you see giant rock pools that look like circle tubs the kids and adults alike swim there... Also, take one morning to drive from Spearfish to Lead at 10am speed limit or slower and turn up the music or not and watch the Sun come up over the Hills it's magical at the 10am start don't stop and get out just drive and watch ... It's crazy that a camera or video does it no justice to it's true beauty ... You did a wonderful job Thank You so Muches

The diversion dam at the begining of the video is for the power house by the devil's bathtub trailhead parking lot. You must come back at this time of year for the fall colors in Spearfish Canyon. My wife and two daughters and the boyfreind of one went driving in the canyon Saturday. Beautiful fall colors. Have a great day from Belle Fourche.

Very beautiful place, great filming. There is a falls about that same size here by my home that is not commercialized. In other words, all the trails to it are natural trails made by usage over time. And the falls are open where you can walk into the water or get behind the fall. The other day I was leaving out of my home down the gravel road and there was a turkey in the road. I slowed to let her cross but she just stood there. I lowered my window and pulled up beside her. She looked up at me and gobbled. Nature is so awesome. All that to say, slow down, look at what is around you and enjoy the wonders of His beautiful work.

The Black Hills, Pa Sappa, is the cosmic epicenter for the Ogala people. The area was ceded to them in perpetuity, until gold was discovered there. Then the white man took it. They have been trying to get it back ever since. Mt Rushmore is the home of the Great Spirit. It is a beautiful place

Absolutelty incredible! I’ve done Colorado so many times, as well as Nebraska, never the dakotas. Some friends tell me the dakotas have the best indigenous trout streams for fly fishing.

I have watched several of your videos and you do a good job. My wife and I just returned from that area and we are already talking about going back. If you haven't already been to the needles and tunnels make time for that drive. Just a word of caution don't take the camper. The smallest tunnel is only 8'4" wide. Keep up the good work.

Another thing no one talks about when walking all these trails is you have zero chance running into a bear along the way. No fear of getting attacked and eaten in the Black Hills because there aren’t any bears.

If you want to see some good falls, come stay in Oconee, SC and you'd be within driving distance of many beautiful falls. There is a Bridal vail falls near Highlands, NC that is a roadside attraction that you can walk under. It is beautiful and looks like a bride's dress train because I think of a vail being over a brides face. I guess Bridal Vail sounds better. Then there is Brasstown falls and White Water Falls. Also others.

It looks like you folks are having a great time - enjoy! I've been to SD a few times, but I'm in Colorado. If you make it down here you should check our Rifle Falls state Park It has a waterfall similar to the first one you stopped at. If you like historical buildings and don't mind a 4WD road, then the Crystal City Power Plant is a must see - it's outside Marble CO. They were generating power there back in the late 1800's.

Just a point of reference... "Lead", the town name, is pronounced by the locals as "Leed", not "Led". No biggie, but you know, might just as well let you know. You should ride the Monkey in Sturgis and be a biker dude! Have fun!

it probably was mentioned a million times before, but there are sections in your videos - both here and on abom79 - that have sound only in the left channel/ear. I don't know if it is some camera setting or some sloppy editing, but it sounds pretty terrible in headphones.
