Nice one , Watching on lockdown in UK had great memories of Gt Barrier & Little Barrier fishing /diving during the 80s

Reef Hunter Spearfishing NZ Used to do 3 or 4 long weekend trips a year in late 70s early 80s . Best memories were Crays in 6 ft water at little Barrier and night dives for scallops at Gt Barrier . Our skipper was a guy called Don who was 70 back then . Don would tell us stories at night how him and his brothers were first divers in Nz to use tanks and how his mum knitted them all full woollen wetsuits to keep warm , but Don did know all the best spots and we never came home empty handed , great days Any chance you would do a night dive video. All the best

@@marklonie4058 That's awesome I love hearing stories from back in the day! The glory days! Yeah I've done night dives overseas but not in New Zealand yet, I'll try get one done this year. It's an amazing at night, I will never forget my dive in the Maldives, just incredible.

@olliecraig-primalpursuit4 жыл бұрын
Just go hard. Need to grab by the horns at base (feelers will come off) try aiming for their tail as they move so fast backwards. Use one hand to move their feelers/attention upwards then come underneath or vice versa

hey ollie, i've seen you take a hammer out to bash kina before. where do you keep it? is there an attachment you have to your weightbelt? cheers
@olliecraig-primalpursuit4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I usually take the hammer out if I'm on a mission diving of my kayak or boat. But if doing a shore dive, chuck it in a float baot or I think I've heard guys modifying the hammer holder on a builders/carpenters apron? Anything that works, highly reccommend though! Very efficient and saves getting spines in hands when using a rock!

@olliecraig-primalpursuit4 жыл бұрын
Most people over complicate seafood. The way I Cooked my Paua and crays are how 99% of people here in NZ cook them. As for the scallies. Not my favourite, garlic butter flash fried is the best. Cheers for the feedback.

Awesome vid man! What size rubbers and what stretch percentage do you run on your roller?
@olliecraig-primalpursuit4 жыл бұрын
Will have a gear vid up shortly in KZbin going into depth on my guns and equipment etc. But I usually run 16mm bands slightly longer than half barrel length then pre tension right down onto the lugs near handle.
