I dive the same areas, you know the hog fish get much bigger than that. One thing I learned is that by not shooting the little ones and covering more ground you encounter a lot more quality mature fish. They can hear that speargun going off from quite a distance away and when you shoot the little hogs often there is a nice big fish a shot distance away that spooks.

its a rock hind grouper. they don't get big and have no size requirement if I'm not mistaken. if I am please inform me

Pavel Poliakov about 1000 -1500 feet depending on if you wanna hit the ledge or go over the ledge. but the ledge is a good 20 minute swim. sorry i took so long to respond i hadnt checked it in a long time
