We did not shoot the sailfish. It was caught on a drifting long-line (about a mile long line with a baited hook every 20 meters). It is illegal to harvest sailfish using long-line in Guatemala, so Robert freed the sailfish from certain death. I shot the dorado (mahi mahi), and we ate it for dinner that night.

I copied and pasted this because I thought it was too important to pass on. Global warming will warm the water enough to contribute to corral blanching, and the extra growth of different types of algae in the oceans a certain variety which cuts off the oxygen in certain areas suffocating fish life in coastal areas.. This may give you an idea of how important a clean ocean is.. We can get drinking water out of the ocean after treating it. Consider how presently they talk of purifying black water. We get oxygen from the ocean from photosynthesis. Look it up. We get food from the ocean. Plastics eventually convert to microplastics which enter the food line and eventually us. We get clean rain water from the ocean, it does have a role in this. There's much more consider it a lifeline.

no! that was a local longline used by commercial fisherman. catching sailfish on a longline in Guatemala is illegal. so I released it.

I want to learn more about basically the black tip sharks ! Here i use upto penn #6 for catfishing below the spillways on the lakes here . I wasted too much money on basic bass fishing gear, catfishing! My 209 and upto basically a 309s 67lbs braided lines then the senator sizes 100lbs braided line. If I'm going up into the mountains, I like my ice fishing gear with 20lbs braided line. I once caught a large mouth bass , the mouth went over a 64 oz canning jar , the stream wasn't 15ft wide , ive no idea how deep.
