I fish for pollock and cod from a kayak on the other side of the sea, East Coast Scotland. It's really interesting to see them underwater (although probably we don't have such huge shoals on shore).

well, when I go hunting I can hunt 10 kilos fish once a week for three weeks and we allways end up eating it. Not saying everyone does but I think most people eat their fish or give it away / sell it. Doesn¨t matter to me as long as it doesn't go to waste....

Hi Michael, fantastic video! Watching it a second time I noticed the big pollock you catch is the same one floating in front of you at 3.04. I was wondering why you did not take the shot then, were you confident it would come back round? I've never dived with a school as large as that, I imagine it can be difficult to pick the right one?

if you lay still and long enough they always come back. What happened here is a small one swam on my snorkel and got scared.. as you see it affects all the other fishes. Within a few seconds the curiosity overwhelmed the fear and the same one got back at me. if you look close you can follow the fish to when it comes back.

yes it may be difficult to pick the right one. I don't always pick the biggest one. also making the video is a part of my dive so I always take my time with the fish carefully selecting the ones that can be easily fooled. it may look easy in the videos. that's because I only include the best clip from each dive.
