Spearfishing Norway, October 2022

Spearfishing in October on the west coast of Norway is a magical experience. With large amounts of Atlantic cod and -pollack, it is no problem to score big, and the freezer can be filled with delicacies from the sea before winter. This video was recorded in Molde, Møre and Romsdal.

Great Video! Norway seems amazing to dive and hunt. Do you know if there are good spots around Kristiansand and what time of the year would you recommend as best to visit and spearfish? Thanks!

Thanks Todor. Glad you enjoyed the video. And yes, Norway really is a paradise for spearfishing 😉 I'm unfortunately not familiar with the area around Kristiansand (I live in Molde in central Norway), but I'm sure there are many good spearfishing spots down there. Generally the best time for spearfishing is spring and autumn. Large fish enter shallow waters. Summer can also be nice, but then the big fish usually go a bit deeper. In winter the visibility is often fantastic, but it is rare to come across large fish at this time of year. You may want to contact the Facebook group Fridykkerforumet ( facebook.com/groups/fridykkerforumet ) to get in touch with freedivers in the Kristiansand area. I wish you the best of luck...

@@PASKSpearfishing thank you very much! Sounds similar to spearfishing in the Black Sea. Unfortunately here, there is almost nothing to spearfish in the winter. :)

Hei Andreas Jeg bruker kun 7 mm. Som allround drakt er den ypperlig. Den er litt kald midtvinters, og litt varm på sommeren. Men om du skal ha 1 drakt er det 7 mm som gjelder her omkring. Kan anbefale Evo3 framfor Evo2. (Evo2 er en del stivere, og dermed mindre behagelig enn Evo3). ECO-modellen har jeg ikke prøvd, men anmeldelsene sier at den skal være på linje med Evo3.
