Thank you for your nice video. I'm french and spearfish here but I went to Ile Of Skye and it's the most stuning and beautiful seascapes I've ever seen. Thank you for showing me what it looks like under the sea. I wish I spearfish there when I'll be back for hollidays. (sorry for my bad english).

Awesome vid mate once again! Heading to Skye on the 29th, huge amounts of Coaly last time I was there but didn’t see many pollock! Any tips, tricks or marks you had would be ace!
@jackmetcalfe85422 жыл бұрын
Seemed to work best keeping moving until we dropped onto fish, a lot of marks were barren and others had loads of Pollock. I’ve definitely found that pollock will move in quite quickly if they’re in the area, so if nothing has appeared after 30-35 seconds on the bottom I head back up to avoid wasting energy

@jackmetcalfe8542 Жыл бұрын
Generally the northern parts of the island seemed to hold more fish, and had better visibility. However I would reccomend asking Syke Spearfishing, I've only done around 10 dives off Skye whereas he lives there and has a superb knowlege of the island

Can you have success with limited depth of diving? Say 6/7m? What kind of ground are you looking for? I’ll be up living on he west coast highlands later this yearand want to bring my kit with me!!!
@jackmetcalfe85422 жыл бұрын
I know some guys in Scotland sometimes get good Pollock as shallow as 5m, however I’ve seen a lot more fish when 10m+. Think it depends more on the structure in the water and the currents

Nice video. May I ask what would be the minimum depth to shoot pollock on Sky. I'm on the second half of the bridge so don't dive very deep any longer- hence asking:)
@jackmetcalfe85422 жыл бұрын
I've seen decent fish in 8 meters, although have seen far more good fish deeper than that. Aaron (who does the Skye Spearfishing channel) has shot some very large Pollock in 5-8 meters so they do definately come into the shallows at times
