Great video - loved all the drone shots at the start - beautiful scenery and amazing visibility in the water, I’m jealous!!

@@BR0SE1DON cheers mate. Yes, sometimes the vis at the south coast is quite impressive. The fish is more skittish though!

That was really nice! Thank you so much for a ‘slice of life’ in your spear fishing adventures. Keep it up & enjoy. (And thanks for cleaning up as you go along too)

Great vid! Loving the subtitles versus audio overlay, makes it far more immersive! My 7YO lad and I snorkel that mark too. What a lovely spot!

awesome footage...if I continue to keep not catching bass then it looks like I'll be getting a spear gun next year! haha

@@petewl2532 cheers. haha, I find rod fishing too stressful now :) too many lures to loose without knowing if the fish is even there!

beautiful shots, been wanting to try out spearfishing, how did you start out yourself?
@cloudyhorizon1780Ай бұрын
cheers. I started by reading books and blogs about it, watching videos from various spearos. Unfortunately I do not live very close to the sea so it took me 2-3 years to build up some confidence on occasional trips. Having a buddy in the beginning and doing a course would also help significantly. I guess it is all about practising it as often as possible and gain experience. It is also fine not to catch anything but just being in the water. Good luck! :)

@@cloudyhorizon1780paha yes the confidence is something i’d definitely need to work on, thanks for your reply i’ll definitely take your advice :)

Looks like an undersize bass you got there - how do you tell that they are above taking size before you shoot them
@cloudyhorizon1780Ай бұрын
@@tonymorrissey9637 the fish measured 42cm when frozen, so I'd assume it was at least 43-44cm before that. After a bit of practice you know when it could be on the shorter side so you don't risk then. I shot an undersized bass only once and it was an accident as it got aligned with the other fish.
@bengreatrex1364Ай бұрын
@@cloudyhorizon1780even if the bass is undersized, the reason why fish stocks have depleted 90 percent since the 1800s is due to industrialisation of fishing, trawling etc. The spear fishing and other angling communities have insignificant impact on the stock levels. It’s greedy fishing industries for the last 100 pillaging our waters.
