Where in the world do you find water that calm on the Oregon Coast? I frequent the Southern Coast and don’t ever see water that calm. Great video, absolutely enjoyed it. Just subscribed and going to watch your other videos now.

@@OFGW Hey thanks for the reply! To get best conditions as possible I monitor weather for low wind (or light winds from East) and low swell. For monitoring these conditions back to back across the West Coast use the “Windy” app. I use the pro version and couldn’t recommend it enough. You can use the free version, but then if you need swell reports use the “magic seaweed” website. Timing for ideal conditions are indeed rare and hard to time on the Oregon Coast. Thanks for subscribing! I hope to have more spearfishing content soon. I’m still new to video production but hope to get better and better at it. Thanks for watching!

@@thisisntgood71 I thought it looked like Port Orford, thanks.

@@ScorpioRisingAdventures I live in Coos Bay and just have not captured the conditions like that in Port Orford. I've only been free diving for about a year and I need to get down there during good conditions. Funny enough I am a professional photographer and do a lot of outdoor and landscape photography in the area and I use both those apps frequently. Generally for my work I am looking for large swells, 15+ foot breaking waves, and strong winds from the West or Southwest for the most dramatic photos. Thank you so much for the reply and the suggestions. If you are going to be in the area let me know and I can get some photos of you so you can add to your B-roll.

What material is the leader on your reel line?
@ScorpioRisingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Hey! Attached to the spear is 250 test mono. Usually, I would just attach the reel line to the spear. However, I left the mono shooting line on this one incase I want to use it with the shockline. I chose to keep it on so I wouldn’t waste the crimps and all that mono. The spear I usually use with the reel was too dull and needed sharpening. So I just tied the reel line to the back of the mono and it rigged up just right.

@@ScorpioRisingAdventures That's really intriguing. I was thinking it was coated galvanized or stainless steel cable for abrasion resistance.
