and just to add for constructive criticism...the g36 in attacking from the water to the beach should be with a suppressor or silencer (especially the noise level is not accurate in the film having no silencer)...to make it more covert and realistic...and gadgetry...body movements or dynamic movements as a soldier was not emphasized...but good enough...nice story line...there's always a room for improvement and for future projects....nice.

so lets bring out some points for debrief - 1- no suppresser used on this level of tac ops. 2- 2:50 no ones trained to swim with weapons in that position 3- 3:29 i would prefer to do some before firing drill and light oil the weapon to avoid weapon stoppage. 4- 7:01 all. operators are facing in once the room is secured, big NO !!!! must be covering arcs mainly outer threats. 5- use of smoke would assist their extraction from the sniper

Percubaan yang bagus... Boleh perbaiki lagi... Ini komen saya : 1) pesawat predator tak boleh tembus hutan tebal 2) spotter dah ada kat situ, patutnya dia boleh detect dah sniper musuh kat mana 3)jangan bawak orang yang dah diselamatkan di lokasi A pergi bersama-sama menyelamatkan tebusan lain di lokasi b 4) hanya doktor saja yang boleh tentukan orang dah mati ataupun tak. besides the blaring issues with squad tactics, especially with a lack of suppressors and perimeter security after getting Pos ID with the VIP, this is pretty good and way better than the average military shortfilm. the shots are beautiful and takes advantage of the local environment, including a drone shot, editing is really well done. Was taken by surprise at the use of scuba gear too for a scene that doesnt go very long. interesting POV from below pointing upwards as they swim across. Hoping to do mine soon here in BN we can do a good short just like you guys. Definitely have a great crew.

Beautiful short film. Im impressed with the scenery, very nice angles etc. You just gotta work a bit on the tactical part. 1: Never leave a teammate alone (in case with the sniper and spotter), 2: get some perimiter security when confirming ID of the target, 3: Suppresssors? 4: Why wasn't there a medic to help the wounded one when extracting?

1) Alpha rescue teams always wear helmets either its mission in water or land. 2) Terrorists in jungles always place more landmines and tripwire than anyone can possibly imagine no one can walk so freely in jungle. 3) If its a rescue operation for a political leader of government officer , rescue teams will always have a backup team ready and with more than 2 possible evacuation plans and resources. 4) If its a jungle mission , whole rescue team will wear camouflage suit , and im not talking about gillie suit. 5) Rescue operations have 3 teams of operators team , backup team , evac team. And each team consist of 2 medics.

Too, wondering about some of the tactics flaws as Mr. Pardo pointed them out - still I like and enjoy the filmmaking, as it is more close to a realistic approach than many western world made films, in which the team always are the great saviours and the bad guys all get killed. In reality it's often just not that way, and you show this pretty well. Also hope you keep up on the cool work!

Kalau terlalu ikut 'amik yang positif', maknanya penghasilan produk yang akan datang pun sama je kualiti nya, tak meningkat. Plus, from my on opinion, there's still a lot to improve. Agak frustrated sebab tak elakkan simple mistakes. contohnya, yang paling obvious lah, even yang bukan dari background military pun boleh tahu.. penggunaan suppressor/silencer di awal cerita... ada ke tak sebenarnya? sebab tengok G3 tu tak ada pulak suppressor. anyway, good try! nampak ending macam ada sequel kan. harap team production boleh improve dari semua segi 💪🏻

Great attempt for a small cast (and budget?) there are a lot of things that were pointed out by other comments with things like tactical sense and decisions. so I'm not gonna repeat those. but I'll try to show accurate radio terminology so that if you make the next film, you can make it better. general disclaimer: most of the "Sierra to sunray" or "sunray to sierra" would be shortened if they are using internal squad comms. but since it's depicted that they are different squads, I will treat them as such. another thing is that "X to Y" and "Y, this is X" are both correct and gets the meaning across. Normally "over" isn't used as much on internal squad comms, but I'll include them because it's the "correct" way of using the radio terminology. 3:30 "Sunray-1 to zero, pass checkpoint Alpha. Over" do note that you generally don't use things like "Alpha" as brevity points, you might use something like, "Checkpoint Subang" followed by another city, or maybe state names. "Zero to Sunray, Pass Checkpoint Alpha, Over" 4:00 "Sunray-1 to Sierra, pass checkpoint Bravo. Over." no clue why they contacted the sniper team instead of HQ. another note here, you would not use "Sierra" as a callsign at this moment because you are using "Alpha" and "Bravo" as checkpoints. *however* having a callsign of Sierra is normal, but for special operations, they normally spice their callsigns up, so instead of Sierra they would call themselves like Seeker. 4:10 (Using English for this part, but it's perfectly fine to use Malay for inter-squad communications.) "Sierra to Sunray, roger. Spotted [mission specific name for the hostage] and 3 armed MAM (Military aged male) at the riverside, [bearing] from [my/your/agreed upon location(Bullseye)]. [Mission specific name for the Minister] is suspected to be in the single-story building next to the river. Over" This part is much longer because you are telling the other squad important information. 4:20 "Sunray-1 to Sierra, roger. Moving to target" added "moving to target" because you are entering the other squad's field of fire. 5:05 "Sierra-1 to Sunray. Be advised, 2 hostiles ahead. Over" 5:08 "Sunray-1 to Sierra. Shoot on target on the right on my mark. Over" 5:12 "Sierra-1 to Sunray. Roger, Target on the right, on your mark. Over" Read back, to make sure they aren't hitting the wrong target, and because this is him confirming that he is granted permission to fire, which might be important depending on context and mission rules of engagement (ROE). 5:17 "Execute Execute Execute" This is generally repeated 3 times because it's an important timing. 7:00 "Sunray-1 to Zero. Located [codename for hostage 1] and [hostage 2], unable to locate [hostage 3] at this moment." Not part of the comms, but just wanna say that he would get hit before he can hear the gunshot. bullets are supersonic. 7:30 "Sunray-2 to Zero. Sunray-1 is VSI (Very Seriously Injured), we are currently receiving accurate suppressive fire" note, "Very Seriously Injured" is a way of measuring how badly injured someone is. "accurate suppressive fire" means that they are taking shots from an enemy and it's landing in their vicinity. 7:39 "Sierra-1 to Sunray, SITREP?" 7:42 "Sunray-2 to Sierra. Sniper fire from [bearing] (or can simply say Unknown direction). Negative on visuals." some information should be given fast and simple when asked. especially when it's a highly trained spec ops team. 8:00 You generally would ask HQ (zero, in this case) for ISR and not call the ISR controller directly. (honestly, zero should have warned them beforehand since that's the use of ISR) "Sunray-2 to zero. Requesting enemy location from ISR. Over" "Zero to Sunray. Enemy spotted at [Bearing], [distance] away from your pos. Beside a clump of bamboo trees. Over." "This is Sierra-2. working on it" (no fucking clue why he broke concealment and started a mad sprint towards the enemy position) 8:20 "Sunray-2 to Zero. Proceeding to exfil. Over." 10:45 "Sunray-2 to Zero. 1 is KIA" "Zero to Sunray. Roger that, Charlie Mike. Over" Charlie Mike means Continue Mission. which is a more than common response because this is a hostage rescue mission. there are some spots that could have some more stuff added. Like calling back to HQ that they passed certain checkpoints when they secured the first, and then the second hostage. but overall, pretty good for a small team.

the way you set the special forces when they approached the car was not realistic just FYI the entire team would not move in a single file like that when it's not CQB , they would also not approach the car together and they would probably use sniffer dogs to check the car And when the divers got out of the water , first they would never pop out of the water in front of an enemy like that + the enemy guard behaved like he was being spayed with bullets , when in fact he was shoot twice the communications between team members is also off , they would never use names as if they are talking on a cell phone , (this is X speaking) they know each other they have numbers or call signs , they would use short direct sentences Example : 1 this is 3 , in position when communicating with the base / command they would just say " this is Alpha" - when they were getting ready for the op they already memorized the checkpoint names and different events that might happen , so only someone at the base would know what alpha means (it could mean "arrived at checkpoint alpha" , it could mean , "found target", it could mean "we are exposed" etc) as for the sniper running to take out the enemy sniper , why would he pull out a knife , they are already exposed , he would have used his main weapon or side arms just a little constructive criticism

Hei Azril. Kudos for the short film. I can see you have put in a lot of hard work. I can't claim that I could do a better job. I enjoyed watching it, but I have seen plenty of action and war films, and I am aware of Spec Ops tactics that you should have considered. There is so much hard work and attention to detail in the film, with the shot selection and scene settings, photography in and out of water, at sea and on land. Unfortunately, the whole tactical performance of the special forces team detracts so much from you hard work. From the start, the characters talk too much, and too loudly, when they should be using more hand signals (they should have known their plan and how execute it). Their protocols are not what you would expect: i.e. the sniper team paddling in broad daylight and in the middle of the stream without any attempt to conceal their movement (despite their ghillie suits, at least hug the stream's edge and use vegetation as cover, edit the lighting so it feels like they are doing it at dusk or dawn), the extraction team swimming all bunched up, no plastic coverings on their weapons, coming out of the water and immediately shooting and revealing their presence (and what happened to their scuba gear? did they just ditch it at sea? Their CO will be angry that stuff is expensive), no attempt to spread out or conceal the enemy kills, not even attempting to remove or disablie the enemy weapons, moving in together talking loudly, not securing their perimeter, and what is it with the spotter trying to kill the enemy sniper with a knife by coming directly at him? And didn't anyone have first aid training, not rendering assistance to their CO, even basic life support: they carried him all the way to the boat, noone giving first aid, and at the end of the film saying, "oh, he's dead". Dude, no wonder. Sorry, I'm no film maker, but if you make another one, please consider the tactical performance and make it more realistic. That way, a good film would be a great film everyone will enjoy and want to watch more. All the best in the future, I'll be watching your other films.

weapons such as a M4A1 platform or the H&K G36C's that the team is sporting in the film are all able to be used while coming out from water and various environments, they both operate on a Piston system. Gas is inside the gas tube which once the weapon fires, it utilizes the gas system to push the bolt to the rear and ejects and chambers another round. but on your other talking points i agree, more thought should be put into making the team more communicative without talking or at the very least low voices and closed circuit communications equipment, you can get it readily available from airsoft vendors as well as normal hunting/hiking/tactical equipment vendors.

Maybe some silencers too, them shots coming from the water would have stirred up the hornets nest, no wonder that guy got out of the house and into his sniper position, he heard your shots before you reached him

Untuk short film mmg mntap ni.. Tapi detail dlm weapon tu mcm x kena.. Muzzle kosong.. Tapi bunyi mcm dah pasang supressor.. . Kalau muzzle kosong.. Dari awal mmg x kantoi ops ni.. . Dgn darah tu.. If the sniper shot from left.. Jgan bagi tunjuk darah dari depan kebelakang.. Salah dah matematik dia tu.. . Btw.. Semua ok.. Details weapon kena tngok.. Muzzle tu penting.. sebab dia trntukan bunyi ledakan.. 😂
