Gun shouts sound too muffled, especially for being a warehouse setting. Those gun shots inside would have had some echoing going on. The shouts outside would have echoed off those buildings. Also interesting that the first loud contact before entering the structure wasnt heard from inside. that must be some super amazing insulation on that building.

also for being close quarters and being Tier 1 they would be using suppressors since range is not really a question in this scenario. plus the suppressors they use for carbines is clip on anyways so its easy to take off when needed.
@1Maccabee
@1Maccabee 9 жыл бұрын
+patmad10 that was immediately my first thought. "If they're Tier 1, where are their SBRs with suppressors? HK MP7s with suppressors?" These guys are more like Marine Recon than anyone else. Even Army Rangers would've had suppressed SBRs, because the Army has the cash. Absolutely not Tier 1, but it's a fun video.
@FreelancerTex45
@FreelancerTex45 9 жыл бұрын
+patmad10 Rifle suppressors don't affect the amount of noise from the shots fired, it just helps to cover the flash from the round leaving the barrel. In a real scenario, they don't help. That's Hollywood thinking. Second, a suppressor is screwed into the barrel muzzle, it's not clipped on. So for CQC a suppressor is just a hindering factor. At long range, upwards of five hundred meters, a suppressor is more effective since it helps hide the flash and helps a shooter remain hidden until somebody figures out where the direction of fire is from.

The second kill wasn’t all to bad, it was mainly the first one that has the most problem. It’s a common misconception to think that 1-2 bullets enough to kill someone. But it’s not, there are conclusive evidence on it. Veterans that’s been shot more than 30 times but continued to live.

Butter Bean depends on the caliber. The first kill was done by a 308, it would have been a near instant if it was to the chest. the second a 556 (223 in civi calibers), they are good, especially in tighter areas but not the greatest for doing the job. As long as you get the centre chest or head it’ll be a one shot kill unless they have body armour. 223/556 struggle to go through body armour, which is why the Russians use 243/762’s because they are well none for tearing up anything they hit.

Decent video. Question: How come the bad guys inside the building didn't hear the shooting outside the building. * Sniper had a silencer, but the others didn't. And why were the "Tier 1" guys giving each other the "good job" state during the middle of the mission?

Russian Dude Well, its called a suppressor.. Silencer was more or less what it was called originally when it didn't make it as quiet as they do now, and even then they still aren't super quiet like what movies show. But to the original point, it's a suppressor, as it suppresses the noise. The reason for the change of name is exactly that. A silencer mislead people into thinking the gun would be silent, but its not entirely silent depending on your range, and in a warehouse it could still echo and be a little loud.

+delldell2004 well, there are also paintball\airsoft players who can tell that the tactics shown here is not ..very believable. A little tweaking required thats all. Maybe take out the over climactic music altogether. Good weapon sounds. Maybe relocate the setting; was a bit odd seeing full battle gear, fully identifiable terrorist wardrobe, sniper with full ghillie, all in an urban setting on friendly soil(school bus was an odd prop placement). I can excuse the ditzy acting cause I seen much worse on bigger budgets. I do love all these tactical warfare dramas. Maybe watch some "Strike Back" for reference? Well done though.

+wildevil The last surviving bad guy was shooting from the top balcony (at God knows who) and had the wrong gun sound (based on my Call of Duty gun knowledge LOL) - I agree, Call of Duty is a game and should be taken with a grain of salt, however they do sample real weapons to make their games so there's that. Also, the recoil reactions are totally unrealistic, they should fire real guns at a gun range to get their recoil game up.
@wildevil

Erskin Hansen They have to remember audiences are smarter these days. We know how things work, we spot whats out of the ordinary, and often times we're a little critical about realism. We often take it as an insult if they assume we wouldnt notice those little details that they try to slip by us. I do appreciate all the effort that went into the production, and I can understand if this was just meant to be entertaining rather than accurate. But if they really are serious about making films like this, then take the audience seriously too.

Couldn't have said it better. I'm impressed that they made it this far, that's an accomplishment in itself. I would like to say to the creators that they shouldn't feel too bad about the negative feedback they're getting. Their experience has taught them more than we could ever know nitpicking from our computer screen LOL. They should take our comments (as harsh as some may be) as "honest" feedback to greatly improve their production... something their friends and family could never give them. And they didn't even have to wait for a film festival or pay us for this awesome feedback. I get it, we're all artist and we're sensitive about our sh**, but in the grand scheme of things it's a WIN-WIN for the creators to get our feedback.

@GODSPEEDLA
@GODSPEEDLA 9 жыл бұрын
Really? Cause you are tier 1. So just double tap right? So if they don't kill him or he still breathing they should just save their ammo and keep moving because In the rule book it says "Only double tap". If you are not delta, tier1, or any SOF then don't act like you know. This short film was advised by a delta operator who is active and still serving. He said "I shoot till the fucker is dead...I don't risk him getting up...even if takes 3,4,5 bullets. Im making sure he's dead." Some elements here were Hollywood driven. Yes....but your double tap theory is irrelevant.
@xmiro010
@xmiro010 9 жыл бұрын
+Mike Ho Seconds after my comment I realized you must've done a lot a research for your film so yeah you're prolly 100% more correct than I am. Nice Camra btw. As far realism goes, I'm just curious. Shouldn't the guys on the inside know there were shots fired while the guy near the door got shot? I mean it's not like the operators were using suppressor or perhaps the door was noise canceling.

+xmiro010 They teach you multiple drills - double tap, hammer tap, failure-to-stop, Mozambique. In reality, while a hammer tap or double tap could be sufficient, in the infantry (and I presume SOF) it's much safer and more practical to squeeze off controlled, single shots until the man you're shooting at hits the floor. So, it's less "bang-bang" and more "bang-bang-bang... bang-bang." However, in this video the guys appear to be firing at a cyclic rate on automatic - which you really just don't do, ever. The only time I've ever even seen someone switch from semi-automatic to three-round or automatic (depending on the trigger grouping) is when establishing a base of fire, and even then only at a sustained rate. In close quarters, you're trained to fire at the semi-automatic rate to maintain accuracy and awareness and to reduce the chance of collateral damage. The rule books don't say "only double tap", but they do say "don't go cyclic in a breach", not even a dynamic one. But that's nitpicking. If a CAG guy really advised this short, then he would've pointed that out I'm sure. It's a good video either way.

fake IR modules on the M4s; fake muzzle flash...just FYI, muzzle flash does not always happen with the emergence of a bullet from the barrel. Also, why put an IR/light module with an additional light on the SCAR used for sniping?! The module also seems to obstruct the view of the objective lens on the scope--which is a no-no. Also, snipers will either omit to wear a glove on their shooting hand or at least have a fingerless option for their index finger so they can feel the preload of the hammer before it's about to actuate. Also, scopes are typically sighted in around 100 yds (don't know why you're using meters since there is technically an additional calculation that would have to be used for determining which line to use for bullet-drop compensation) so when you show the scope aiming at the sentry--he's using the 100-yd marking instead of the 200-yd marking, which presumably would have been 1-2 lines below depending on the scope metric. 200 meters = 218 yds...see the disparity? you're talking about an 9% margin of error when calculating bullet drop now. Ask a sniper if that's acceptable in the world of precision. Going full-auto while aiming down barrel with optics or not is pretty unrealistic. When you aim--it's to hit and the recoil from selective fire makes it pretty wily to control your point of aim. I'm assuming it's airsoft equipment. Oh yeah and when you're moving in a fireteam formation, you never have your muzzle pointed at the man in front of you. You also never raise your muzzle clearing a corner because it reveals your arrival about 12-18 inches beforehand to any observers around the corner--that's like a 1-second advantage given to potential opposition that could easily mean the difference between who gets who in their sights first. Maintaining a physically-small profile is part of your covert infiltration advantage and a raised barrel betrays that. It's always pointed downward until you break formation (when in a fireteam) to take the different sectors when clearing a room. One of the "operators" kits looked like it was a camel-bak, haha. Anyway, it's pretty cool--the emulation of an actual op. Oh and usually when door kicking--there will be machine pistols or shotguns involved for the breachers clearing in close quarters. Just sayin'--from a practical standpoint but I've seen training with the short-barreled (10") carbines too. The fact your players could barely grow facial hair kinda detracts from the realism too. Deltas are usually selected from green berets and rangers so that means they've been around for a while, I believe average age is in early 30s. Maybe have those guys wear balaklavas--Rainbow 6 style??? I appreciate the work though and all of y'all should be proud for the level of attention involved in the reenactment. Also, why remove the flip-up sights from the SCAR? If anything happened to your optics, your weapon would be unserviceable...I see no practical reason to remove flip-up sights from any platform. The weight savings is negligible and they're usually low-profile when in the stowed position to not interfere with optics. I don't know why you would wrap a suppressor either...that's what the suppressor is designed to do. Strange creative liberty taken.

U.S. military uses yards, the silhouettes might be marked meters. Since you know yards are part of the American Standard system...not the METRIC system, miss America. And you know this because when was the last time you went to combat arms training, brochacho??? And I got over 13+ years in service. #youcanshutyourSAUSAGEWALLETnow

+Hip-Hop Homework I would like to call myself a paratrooper who is still serving and as an 11C all we use is meters. The only time I use yards is when I'm pulling DZSO duties on a jump and working with Air Force aircraft. The U.S is not on metric but since we are partners with NATO and foreign countries we use meters one cause it's more accurate and two is the main method of measurement universally.
@hip-hophomework4252
@hip-hophomework4252 9 жыл бұрын
how are meters more accurate? 1 meter = 39~ inches and 1 yard = 36 inches. How do you justify that statement? If you're dealing with precision--a smaller unit of measure will net you more precise calculations and adjustments. So if anything, the opposite could be said with more reasoning. I'm not trying to turn this into a debate. The original point was if you're using meters for optics (assuming american-made and ergo call for using yards for sighting procedures) then you could technically be way off your mark, if your zero at 100 yds from your eye--pointA, through your reticle--pointB, and your target pointC, with the difference between yards/meters...like I pointed out previously. You could be grossly off-target because the alignment from pointA-pointC would be ~18 inches off at that distance. I'm sure there are Euro-Russo manufacturers employing metrics for their optics solutions but I doubt we're using 'em. A lot of operators use custom stuff when it comes to rifle mods too. Even the adjustments on elevation and windage use yards for bearings. Do you use strictly iron sights? 'cause I saw tons of infantrymen with the ACOGs when I was in Afghanistan. Even the armor guys, pretty much anybody who went outside the wire was rocking an ACOG on their m16/m4. And I was a POG so I don't know what combat arms professions use on the range. What I do know, from my own optics, and manufacturer-recommended (trijicon) sighting procedures is that the ranging is based on yards. Including bullet-drop compensator markings. It could have a negative impact on hits that is magnified over longer distances. Thanks for chiming in to clarify and thanks for your service too.

Pretty good! A good amount of small technical errors, such as the fact that a unit using specialized foreign weapons would not wear American flag patches due to their secretive nature (Delta Force, CIA SAD, etc). And an urban ghillie suit? In a training facility? But I understand how painstakingly difficult it is to make productions as such, so keep up the good work!

Matt Entz True, but Delta is often attached with other non-military units, as well as some private entities even. This is especially true in a bodyguard-type role. Not to mention the fact that while you have a valid point, Delta Force is described as "professional soldiers who hate the Army." They don't play by the rules and they are on the very edge of being truly defined as an Army unit, whereas a Ranger, for example, could wear his Ranger shirt around the US and not have to worry nearly as much about hiding his identity.

I always find it curious why whenever I see top 'tier' operators they use different guns in media... yes, when you get to that level you basically can use what you wish. but at the same time, why would a team have one SCAR, one G36 and M4's in the mix.. what if you need a mag? units tend to be uniform for this very reason, then your X rounds turns into the teams X rounds. giving you a much larger ammo pool!
@bassistoftheyear
@bassistoftheyear 9 жыл бұрын
+Praetor Lupus most modern weapons all take ar mags for that reason... Scar 16's,M4s, and G36s are just a few that do. It's to make coalitions better able to work together. those looked like scar 17s though which are .308.
@Raldazzar2
@Raldazzar2 9 жыл бұрын
+bassistoftheyear I'm happy to be proven wrong, I'm not trying to E argue, but G36 mags are not compatible with M4 as far as I know, I assume SCAR16 is the 556 version, if so then yes that'll cross over. It seems the .300 blackout round is very popular at the moment. so who knows what's to come!
@bassistoftheyear
@bassistoftheyear 9 жыл бұрын
***** yeah actually g36 was the only one I wasn't sure on. Germany has moved away from it anyway though. I've never heard of .300 blackout in a military aspect. It's esentially a 7.62x39 in a 5.56 casing. Pure gimmick if you ask me.
@bassistoftheyear
@bassistoftheyear 9 жыл бұрын
***** M4 being phased out? The USMC just officially adopted it as their primary issued weapon. There are better rifles out there but the US military and many others will be using the M16 and M4 for many years to come. Also the R in DMR stands for rifle, it's not the person, and in the US military is usually given an M-14 varient or a SASSR, sometimes both. I'm not here to argue but I hate misinformation.

Element of surprise? Suppressors? Darkness? NVG's?
@Zibigan
@Zibigan 9 жыл бұрын
Suppressors are still very loud! One shot even with a suppressor and the opposition would know something is up. Suppressors main uses are to disrupt position detection and to preserve hearing of the operators and those around them, for communication, health, and such. Sometimes there is not a benefit to having a 1 pound, 6 inch cylinder hanging off the weapon. Just like in this case, hearing protection, and cqc with no civilians around.
@gsg9ff
@gsg9ff 9 жыл бұрын
Zibigan Good suppressors are quiet. And I have read of Operators eliminating several enemy targets inside & exfil undetected hence the term silent professionals. And entry guns are short for example the HK MP7a1. which is well suited for the suppressor.
@Zibigan
@Zibigan 9 жыл бұрын
gsg9ff The "idea" of a quiet suppressor is not real. Let's just use the 9mm for a second. an unsuppressed 9mm will be around 160 db out of a pistol. Add a top grade suppressor and they will drop that to around 130 db. A loud rock concert is 130-145 db. All of that is really loud, just the cycling of the gun is extremely loud. not to mention the bullet impact... depending on the surface hit can be amazingly loud. A 22 LR sub sonic round suppressed is the only firearm that I would call quiet. And yes submachine guns are not nearly as effected by suppressor length but they still are. The guys in the film are using 14.5" barreled weapons which are a pain to maneuver with a suppressor on. So, they would be looking at weapons around 36" length stocks collapsed. These are not "entry guns".
@gsg9ff
@gsg9ff 9 жыл бұрын
Zibigan I could only assume from what Operators have said on the subject is that they have fired undetected from enclosed spaces with walls & doors & the enemy either failed to hear the suppressed gunshots or they didn't have time to figure out what the suppressed gunshots were? It's a combination of good tactics & the right weapons to get the job done right. Though it's risky business.
@Zibigan
@Zibigan 9 жыл бұрын
gsg9ff Yeah, a suppressor will be a confusing sound. The primary noise associated with suppressors is the sonic crack. The other sounds are the slowed release of gas out of the suppressor, the actuation of the weapon (really loud depending on the gun), and the round impacting. I would bet the enemy were unable to determine what the noise was. It is a good purpose of a suppressor. You can hear them, but the sound is changed to the point to where you could not distinguish it as easily. Suppressors also hinder the enemy pinpointing where the sound is actually coming from due to the sonic crack being the primary source of sound. Totally agree with the right tactics and equipment. Without one or the other, you will lose the fight. Unless, luck is on your side.

Three things took me out of it. 1. The guy outside the entry team made contact with and the man on point fired his unsuppressed weapon and nobody inside heard that? 2. Most of the dialogue was cool...except when one of the guys said "I repeat." Real military would say "I say again" 3. This is kinda weird for me but the ACR that had the AK conversion is a bit off. I don't think for a head on assault, the one guy would choice to use a gun that shoots AK like that unless they were going for covert, but in that case, the entire team should be equipped with AK ammo guns. Also to add to that, everyone's weapon load out are too diverse for the team to consolidate their ammo since none of them share mags or the same caliber.
