Yeosang truly a light that shines bright. Yes this song is a song he would listen to during his training days. *He stayed up late to study because school and training would end late but he made a promise to his parents that he would make good grades *His parents didn’t want him to be an idol. At an Ateez concert his mom said to him that now she doesn’t have to worry about him and he took it as if now his parent acknowledges him as an artist. *The milk. Yeosang would fall asleep in class sometimes and his friends knew why so a friend left him a banana milk with a note that said Go For It! *The label on the locker Yeosang said that his classmates put what they wanted to be when they grow up and most put lawyer, doctor, judge. He was embarrassed to put it on but he wrote artist.

It was stated that the video of this cover was actually yeosang’s real experience. Like studying hard from morning till night just for his parents to approve of his dream to be an idol and doing training till midnight. He also stated that he was embarrassed putting “artist” as his dream job because his classmates were putting lwhich was shown in the end of the video. (Correct me if im wrong)

Thank you so much for this reaction. I said that I'll explain the video in a comment so hear is my long explanation as well as some of my personal opinions. As someone already stated in their comment, this video portrays Yeosang's real story and he mentioned that he chose to cover this song because he used to listen to this a lot in the past and received great comfort from it and he wanted to give us the same comfort. A little background about him and his childhood. His mother is a math teacher and he was really good and studious student. He always got good grades in school so when he first told his parents that he wants to be an idol in middle school, they were against it. He had to fight for his dreams and was able to convince them to let him pursue his dream but his parents' condition was that he has to continue schooling and must get good grades while being a trainee, which he did. He went to one the most prestigious schools in Korea for high schooling and got good grades as a science student but for that he had to literally wake up at 7 in the morning everyday to go to school and then school finished at 4 so he went to bighit right after and trained from 5 to 11 and then the exact same routine again, for years. He shared that because he was so tired of the training and he can't sleep during classes so he would sleep through his entire break/lunch time which is shown in this video. You can also see a guitar in his room in the video which is because he actually learned to play guitar for a little while when he was younger and even performed in his school singing while playing the guitar. Also, the scene of him waking up and finding a banana milk with a note on it is an incident that actually happened. Yeosang used to be really popular in his school for his good looks, kind nature and good grades. And everyone from his school that have talked about him has said that he was always so tired and would skip meals to get some sleep yet he was the kinded person. They said that he used help out the lunch catering lady and always treated everyone so nicely. There are so many specific incidents that people from his school have talked about but I am not going to state all of them. If anyone reading this comment wants to know more about that please feel free to ask me. So one time, he was sleeping during lunch time and found a banana milk with a note that said fighting/keep going that someone left for him. He said that really motivated him and it's so sweet that he still remembers that gesture and even included it in his video. Also the sticker that he sticks on his locker in this video- the upper one says "Kang Yeosang" and the lower one says "singer". This also happened with him actually. Once the teacher told his class to write what they dream to become in a sticker and put it on their lockers. Everyone else wrote doctor, lawyer, businessman but he wrote singer for which he got made fun of by other students. From going against his parents to struggling and working hard going to school and training at the same time to being made fun of, he did all this because he wanted to become a singer and he wanted to sing so when I hear Ateez songs where he doesn't get many lines or doesn't get to properly sing, it breaks my heart. Even worse knowing that he has asked for more lines since 2019 but is still isn't given the bare minimum. He literally said openly, " I would like to have more parts in our songs especially title tracks" back in 2019. I also kind of don't agree with your statement that his lines are less because he has a deep voice. Almost all boy groups have a baritone or deep voiced vocalist because they add and bring something new/different to the songs but areez's producers seem to lack the understanding of how to use his voice. They have been consistently giving him filler lines where he doesn't need to sing the lines, he just needs to read those lines in his deep voice. Like he has so much to offer as you heard in this cover but you won't be able to name me one ateez song where we hear him sing like this even though they have done such slow songs. But Yeosang doesn't have that many parts in those songs which is weird considering that his voice actually suit slower songs so much. Him going through so much just to become a singer and sing on stage only for him to get 7-8 seconds in most songs is just so infuriating. You have reacted to their killing voice right? He sings for around 1 minute and 10 seconds in an almost 27 minute video entirely about singing which is some insane distribution for a 8 member group.

yeosang truly has a beautiful deep voice and i’m glad he chose and released this cover for his birthday and the song was really heartbreaking yet very soothing as you said 💜 yeosang shared that this song greatly helped and comforted him when he was a trainee and he hoped by covering this song, his voice too could be a source of strength, comfort and hope for others… he thought and worked diligently for this! thank you for the reaction!

It's a cover, but everything about the song choice and the video is just Yeosang's story. It was hard to watching when it came out yesterday just knowing what he went through as a student and trainee, he just captured everything - like you think the Fever diaries getcha, but my goodness.

Yeosang is such an amazing singer, he can actually sing in different styles, he can go low and high smooth and rough, he's just not given proper parts most of the time and for some unknown reasons. 🥹

I love Yeosang's voice ❤😭 Btw I'm just telling you this before someone spreads this rumor but there was a rumor that Yeosang asked for less line in ateez's music but that has been proven false but unfortunately, a lot of atinys still believe that. Yeosang has actually said that he wanted more important parts in ateez's music and this cover is actually inspired by how much he wanted to become a singer.

The first, thank you so much to reacted Yeosang’s new cover song, your comments and your feelings about Yeosang and the song so much resonated with my feelings to him as well. one of my findings is that the fans of Yeosang often have a common feature. Everyone has a deep sensitivity to emotions and a strong connection to the spirit. At same time, they all have a kind and soft heart with full of compassion and empathy. They often release covers or specials clips on their birthday. Yeosangs birthday is today :) This song is so 🥺🥹😭 If you want to, i can really recommend all the song covers we get from them at their birthdays. Thwy are just amazing and I always come back to listen to them. Mingi and Hongjoong even wrote their own songs last year . Besides that from time to time we get other special clips. There is a dance Wooyoung did, which I could definitely could recommend.

His voice is like no other. It feels warm and comforting and really makes me feel like everything will be ok ❤ I'm not particularly fond of the flow of this specific song but I'm sure I'll grow to like it simply because it's our Yeosangie singing it, his cover from last year is now one of my favorite listens lol so it happens! The music video is so precious - just like him!
