Can’t belive it’s been 30 years I remember my mom and I trying to get to ny grandmas house cause we didn’t have power. She didn’t have any either but she did have a fireplace. Some people who knew my mom and I saw us walking and gave us a ride.

Spent that week activated by the National Guard. I was assigned to Shelby County Emergency Operations Center in a Humvee ambulance. The night of -37 we had to pull another Humvee out of a ditch. Nearby farmer offered us a pot belly stove, coffee & cocoa afterwards.

I lived in Chamberland oaks apts then. It was so much fun! Everyone playing in the snow and taking warm up breaks with coco and my brand new Sega genesis! Played sonic pinball for hours! Good memories as a kid. Nightmare for the adults😅😊
