I watched this today ahead of watching the movie "Ordinary Angels" this evening. I remember that snowstorm! I measured 19 inches of snow at my house in Eastern Jefferson County.

Recently found this VHS at the goodwill bins! It was an interesting watch during the recent little storm we got. Happened a few years before I was born and I totally get why we all freak out when snow comes now 😂

I lost water due to freezing pipes, and brought snow inside and melted it with a hair blower to make enough water to flush my toilet once. With that need met, I walked about 3/4 of a mile over mounds of snow to a Kroger to buy food. I was so hungry, I started eating as soon as I left the store. I fell twice during that foraging venture. I slept through the 22 below temp. Heard it the next morning and was glad I hadn't known of a record low. Made that night's sleep easier. Two days later, it reached 70 above -- a 94-degree temperature swing in about 36 hours. Yet, with 70-degree air, there was _still_ about 10 inches of snow on the ground. Unreal.

You obviously don't remember things correctly. Louisville had 16 straight days below 32 degrees and even after that temps stayed below freezing at night with day time highs of 45 . The entire month of January didn't see temps above 50.

The problem was Louisvilles plan was after it melts we will be fine. Problem was it stayed below freezing for over a week.
