As a truck driver that pulls nothing but box trailers I would have been really really hesitant about hauling that cuz I seen no good way to tie it to the floor and those straps that go in the E Track there only rated for couple of thousand pounds a piece. If I had hauled it. It would have looked like Spider-Man had been in their. I hope he had more than the two straps hanging in there on that machine.

There's a lot more work than what you see on the intertubes, but if you are prepared to do a lot of hard work, you will succeed. I wish you the best!
@craigschofield646 жыл бұрын
There is a ton more behind the scenes stuff that happens before any equipment moves even a shovel full of dirt. That said a young man of your age is more than capable of being successful at it, and you already have a leg up on being very successful because your motivated and want to be successful! I am not real familiar with the Excavation business Personally But with any business if you are motivated and committed you can and will be successful! If you are truly wanting to get into the Excavation business, I would PM Chris and let him know exactly what your experience is right now, then let him know where you would like to be in let's say 2 years and 5 years then let him know where you see your business in 10 years. I have been watching this channel religiously for about 8 or 9 months and I would bet my right arm if your serious about your future Chris will give you solid advice and recommend what you need to do to be successful at it! IMO... Chris is a rare man when it comes to sincerely & honestly trying to help other people in his line of work! Most business people are more than willing try to help as long as your not a competitor, but I truly believe that even if Chris and the company he part of, would still give you straight forward advice. It is rare that you meet folks like Chris and his uncle in the business world, and I believe that they would steer you in the right direction no matter what. I also believe that if you were their only competing company for the same job and you asked for advice, they would tell you up front that they couldn't help you this go around because they were bidding on the same job. 99% of companies would give you bogus advice and steer you down the wrong path as apposed to telling you that they couldn't help because they were bidding. I Truly believe that they are that honest! Now I may be totally wrong in my assessment of Chris and the family business but I made a good living for 30+ years on my ability to judge folks and their character and I was correct 95%+ of the time. My advice to you is to do your best to get on their good side and PAY ATTENTION when they are gracious enough to offer sound advice. My best advice to a young businessman such as yourself is to ALWAYS ALWAYS do the best humanly possible to do what you said you were going to do 100% of the time! I always told my kids and the people I was lucky enough to have working for me, is 1 thing...your reputation good or bad will follow you for the rest of your life, and it only takes 1 screw up to ruin a lifetime of good work! My dad had a saying that he religiously lived by....You can have 1000 of "at a boys" to your credit, but it takes only 1 "Awe Shit" to wipe the slate clean! Work hard, Be honest and always always do what you promised and you will be successful in whatever you do! Good Luck to you young man!

Nice ! Yanmar makes great mini's.. my buddy has a 1992 B-50 and the thing is basically indestructible. It has like 16k hours on it and has only had to replace basic wear parts, it needed a new bucket at about 10k, a few bushings here and there, an occasional pin.. put a new set of tracks on it and that's about it. The engine, hydraulic system and drives are pretty much bullet proof.

But I might look at the vio50. I would be pulling behind my F550 on my new 7 ton PJ deck over from Riggsbee. The 40 with a cab,thumb,two buckets,quick connect,and fancy travel alarm is about 59.
