I just love that you are focused on functionality and not decoration. I feel like there are so many teacher youtubers that focus on spending a bunch of money to make the classroom look pretty but then we never really see or hear anything about the content. No shade to those that like to decorate and buy pretty things, but I just love how authentic you and your videos are. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to watch more!!!
@thatspecialeducator10615 жыл бұрын
I agree! No shade to the other KZbinrs, they are doing great work! I just do not subscribe to having large amazon boxes in my thumbnails and large hauls! Focus on the kids, the decor can come over time!

Hi Braelan, greetings from Indonesia! I'm Renny. I have subscribed your channel a few years ago, but recently I checked your channel again since this year my new Learning Support Director is an American and she has opened up my eyes to learn more how to set up a self contained classroom at my school. I am excited about it. Thanks so much for your inspiration, your ideas how to use reuseable resources, not always the fancy and expensive stuff. Very well-explained, too. Best wishes for you!

I have 10 neuro diverse kiddos (multi-aged as well) and I was looking for a different approach, using visual schedules and was really struggling to apply myself to it, this year. I have my own style that works really well and will share with you another day but your work stations and practical solutions are great. thank you for sharing.

I am also obsessed with Especially Education! Hahaha my gen ed coworkers are like (O.o) ‘hey you actually use cool things I could use too’ 😂 I am also a k-2 self-contained teacher but mine is based in ABA (applied behavior analysis). I liked your schedule ideas. My earlier learners actually all use a visual schedule on the wall, I’ve personally never had a problem getting them to use it so it’s interesting to see another opinion. But I also do center style rotations so they all have to transition every 21 minutes anyway.
@thatspecialeducator10615 жыл бұрын
That is great! I used to be. BCBA, I still have my certification and everything. I will probably keep it up. I love aspects of ABA but I also have some practices that I prefer to use a different method! But ABA works! And works well for some kids!

@thatspecialeducator10615 жыл бұрын
Oooo that sounds so awesome! Good for you for making a cool down area! A timer so there is an end time, mazes, coloring pages, and some sort of reflection sheet having them identify the emotion the have. Some cool sensory things would be cool, even for older kids such as sand, putty, slimy putty, and stress balls. The rule is that, if it becomes a toy it gets taken away! They won’t want to ruin it for others!
