That army brigade is EXACTLY what getting rushed was like in NYC. When you see 50 to 100 brothers runnin' up on you you knew what it was. Grand Army Plaza was my home in that era. People didn't know this unless you were from NYC in that time as a youth but Biggie rapping about robbing trains in his intro was real we did that. Special Ed and the army brigade scene was more than a scene it happened all the time. That was one of the reasons NYC ended up cracking down on large groups of youth hanging like we used to do then. Ed was always one of my favorite emcees. Also one of the 1st vinyls I owned too. His 2nd album was even iller!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 much love to one of best, Special Ed! Props to Soren Baker on another banger!

It's true man. Flatbush / Grand Army Plaza was SCARY in the 80's. Whoever can remember this type incident.. I remember by myself like 15 years old, sitting on the D-Train coming from Sheepshead Bay H.S. back to Church Avenue station. I hear noise, look through the door and I see a posse of like 40 kids ready to rob me. They coming real close, I'm SWEATING, Luckily, there were so many kids, I had to know at least one of them. One of the kids recognize me, shook my hand, and they all left me alone. ONLY in Brooklyn! :)
