Fun fact: this event was responsible for revealing the long kept secret that a "special forces" unit even existed within the British Military, or even within any Military for that matter. The British Military, rich in history, were so advanced that a specialized unit of this kind - ever adapting and evolving - actually existed for many years... in complete secrecy. the shah was a revolutionary. after world war 2 the U.S. put his father in control of iran. skip to the 1950s dude ovethrows the shah when he goes to eroupe for a meeting with some oil excutives. then the U.S. overthrowes that guy and puts the shah back in control. then the shah leaves for medical treatment in mexico and then the U.S. in revenge for president carter letting the Shah into the U.S. several students overun the U.S. embassy in tehran. triggering the second iranian revolution
