Whether you join or not, at least you can depend on your local military and government whether you like them or not, to provide resources to you as well as keep you safe whether you need it or not. It is what it is, people are going to be bitter and people are going to be sweet. At least you can say that the U.S has provided resources to any one of any status(upper, middle, low class) within the USA. The universe is always watching!

It appears the Guard performs as well as our standard Army & Air Force when active. I remember National Guard Units in Iraq, Afghanistan, & Kuwait right along side us in the fight, providing emergency extraction, med evac, and fire support when we were overrun.

Strongly considering putting in for a lat move from the Navy. Never thought I'd want to be anything other than a Corpsman but frankly after being pressed into the surgical tech specialty with 65% manning (i.e. no chance to archive and go to a line company) I don't feel like this organization particularly cares to retain me.

Wow you’re a dummy. I don’t know. To go into the SF pipeline. One of the quickest ways into the 18x ray pipeline is actually through the national guard. Get all the schools you want without having to compete with active duty soldiers cause you’re filing a reserve billet and then go active. Tell me you know nothin* about the military without telling me you know nothing.
