Finally identified as a digest for historical information very interested in my father’s involvement in MACV as Sr Advisor LTC Hayden and SFC Bob Bundick were mostly assigned ARVN staff at Phuc Long/Song Be province. Previous to this command he worked MAAG flying L-19 hunting targets at tree top level designating insurgent activity with WP grenades without getting shot down in the process

Is the music underscoring the dialogue necessary? For many people with hearing difficulties hearing different frequencies at the same time can be anywhere from annoying, difficult to make them out, impossible to make out, or painful. Depending on quality of hearing assistance (hearing aids) or levels of damage to hearing, some or all of these issues can be problematic. I for one thought I would try requesting that the musical underscore be either lowered to be sub audible, or even better to be absent? Even for normally enabled hearing such tracks muddy the dialogue, making it harder to hear. Personally with some inability in hearing in one ear your recordings vary between be tough to make out, or worse. Also speaking of hearing computer driven speech, while I can usually make it out just fine; I never enjoy it as it has no emotional inflection, and makes an interesting subject somewhat less interesting. Finally may I further request that you actually get a microphone and record your material? For me it would be much more interesting; to the point of sharing the link with others. Hopefully you have read this and have found my suggestions helpful. As I truly wish your material much success as it is a wonderfully worthwhile subject and it deserves to be well treated. The music makes it harder for the algorithms to pick up the script and censor it, so yes, very necessary. Turn on the closed caption and turn down the volume. You’ll have to put up with some mistakes, but it will make it easier for you.

Regarding that incident where Bargewell was shot in the chest ... he had just found an NVA vest in that compound and decided to put it on. Minutes later, the NVA shot him but the vest absorbed most of the impact. There are now a ton of SOG stories coming out and I hope these brave men receive their earned recognition. The Jocko Willink podcasts contain several interviews with Meyer, the Frenchman Doug LeTorneau, Dick Thompson, Cowboy Doan, and others. The Wild Carrot - Jìm Shorten-Jones - also has entertaining interviews including coming out on a string with MOH winner Jon Cavaiani. If you all have not seen the 20 minute video of MOH winner Roy Benavidez' ceremony, you are in for a treat (The One Zero on the ill fated team for which Benavidez did his one man Bright Light was Leroy Wright. If Wright's heroism was acknowledged in a timely manner, he also might have gotten the MOH, even if posthumously).

I didn't get shot. Got hit with RPD fragments a couple of times,but AFAIK,I was never shot. I do have a long scar running up one forearm,but AFAIK,it was from a frag from a RPG. Minor wound that scabbed over.
