As the buying power of our dollar continues to erode, the price of everything should go up. With people keeping vehicles longer, it also means a decrease of inventory of scrap going to the market. Lot of talk of copper being one of the commodities used to back the BRICS currency being created.

I've heard that they want to reset the price of copper lower.around the two dollar level.

That's barely above the most essential costs of production. No shot. This major fluctuation is simply a result of China dumping reserves into the market. Which is very smart and profitable for them but can not cause such a dramatic change to pricing in the face of unrelenting demand.

Normally, I'd agree that there would be a correction but $2 is a little low if energy prices and inflation remain high. I'd be surprised if copper dips below $4 anytime soon.
