so now what happened - from 126 only 36....shame it takes India 15 years plus to just acquire aircraft.....India probably needs 500 cutting edge aircraft to maintain a deterrence between China and Pak...32 years LCA still not inducted

ashok gowda make in India is truly needed. but its a long term goal. today if make in India is started minimum 30-40 years it will take to be fully self sufficient. Like China even till the 1960's did not even make a needle, today except name any one thing that they don't make. coming to the other issue defence needs and security is also paramount. we have a troublesome neighbourhood and our armed forces especially the army and air-force need extreme urgent up gradation in all aspects!! our submarine force is also depleted. that needs urgent attention too and yes make in India has to simultaneously run but it cant be in an instant 100%. target should be there that every year small % less dependence on foreign manufacturers. i dont like this manohar parikar guy he has no made any big break throuh in defenase deals on the other hands it had made them more complicated this govt dont want rafale becos its deal is from upa govt but thay are not thinking they are risking national sec for their own int
