Special School For Children With Autism at NIPMR - Thrissur

National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR) is an autonomous Institution under the Social Justice Department. NIPMR designs, develops and implements therapeuticals, educational, vocational and awareness programmes in disability for the service providers, who are working for the care and cause of children/persons with disabilities for their rehabilitation and mainstreaming in the society.
The Kerala State Government has set up the Regional Centre for Autism Rehabilitation and Research at NIPMR. It’s a first of it’s kind in the state. It has been set up with the aim of promoting social awareness about autism spectrum disorders and to successfully integrate these children into the community through a holistic approach of intervention and therapies. A fully fledged Autism School is functioning under this project
