People that hate VTubers usually fall into 3 categories: 1. They find them annoying. I have seen a lot of VTubers that are high energy and scream at the top of their lungs, but obviously not all of them are like that. 2. They hate anime in general. Imagine hating anime in 2024. Buncha contrarian Andys. 3. They're jealous of VTubers. I've seen plenty of people (mostly women) that complain that they have to put on tons of makeup, dress real nice, and put their real identities out there for the world to see, while VTubers don't have to do any of that. Thing is, a lot of VTubers _are_ attractive IRL (including Monika). I know several VTubers that even show their real face from time to time. They're VTubers for fun. Taking on a different identity is fun. It's like putting on a puppet show for your audience.

Yo Monika, Awesome to see you've almost raised enough moving funds! I've been watching your videos since you started playing VotV (got interest in the game through Joel, no surprises there), and I love these videos so much, the energy, the humor, and I love the game itself as well. I personally think you being a VTuber and all the different costumes and effects etc that you've made really adds to the hilarity of watching you play the game. You're the only VTuber I regularly watch (not that I'm against the concept at all, it's just I don't watch a whole lot of gaming on YT where most the VTubing is), and it's funny to see all those people getting triggered over nothing and coming up with reasons as to why they don't agree with it when it's obvious they've just come up with them on the spot just to be a contrarian. I feel like another big part of the hate on vtubers is the recent decline of internet literacy and the trend that social media has created towards every aspect of one's life being online. For some disturbing reason, people have decided not to trust those who choose not to be blindly public about themselves on the most readily accessible platform in existence, when that would have seen them getting bomb threats to their schools or workplaces in the early days of online. Personal information is _not for broadcast,_ and for some reason the current generation has forgotten that.

As someone that NEVER wants to show their face, for a multitude of reasons, seeing vtubers popping off the past few years has been so nice. I never got the intense aversion to vtubers, tbh people going into vtuber streams and saying "ewww a vtuber, you must be a 40 y/o basement dweller lololol" (like any time I saw people shitting on Ironmouse when that whole thing was going on recently with the record, as if they actually knew what tf they were talking about lmao) kind of gives me the same vibes as "you'll never pass" that random people say on trans people's selfies and stuff. To me, Vtuber stuff largely varies between individual, and i appreciate the artistic options and choice. But the case that i really don't like, is when people are two-faced, having a nice cute design, or the common sexy character (which can be easily used as thirst-bait like in mobile games), but behind the facade they are morally warped. It's a extra layer of dishonesty, compared to not even having this alternate identity beyond just a name and profile picture, and in the worse cases, it feels... disgusting, to me. Same thing can happen in games too especially those like VRChat, and since it's so easy for any type of person to do it, i end up taking a lot of it with grains of salt. In the end, it boils down to how people act and how much of a alternate identity they use. I mostly just use name and maybe profile picture, mostly just name, so if people want to judge me, i let my actions speak more than appearance.

I can sorta understand why some people might be a bit iffy when it comes to Vtubers, considering there's a minority of Vtubers that, in the past few years, have turned out to be scumbags. This past year has certainly shown me some REAL disgusting Vtubers that REALLY need to get off social media (or hell, the internet in general) and get some help. Even so, I agree that the hate that many Vtubers in general get is quite unwelcome. Just because you don't understand something, doesn't give you the right to just hate on that thing BECAUSE you don't understand it. It's so frustrating that that's still a thing. The fact that people don't wanna research something that they discovered and, instead, want to feign(?) ignorance, and just show unwarranted hate towards said thing, is quite annoying. I get that. Of course, you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. You just have to try your best to ignore it, UNLESS you're clever enough to snap back and roast the haters, which I gladly welcome. That's just my take on what I took away from that segment on the video.

22:19 imma say that in my case its not just that (i also hate furries (the not degenerate ones), clowns and mascots because of that) but its the mostly the fact that so many models try to... pander to certain likings of people that leave this awful taste in my mouth (yours too, tbf, but not only s*xual ones, furry ones in my opinion alway try to be WAY too quirky WAY too much), i eventually come around to it, but its rare, esepcially since so many Vtubers constany bring up s*x, which becomes A N N O Y I N G A S H E L L after the 20th time, not funny.
