As mentioned in this video, Wyndi uses a wrist brace and places different objects (brush, utensils, ect.) in it to complete various tasks. It is her dream to one day have prosthetic hands that have fingers. You can help Wyndi attain these prosthetics at bit.ly/HelpWyndi . No disrespect, I hope the hospital, compensated her for their part! Everything that's going to make her life easier should be taken care of by the hospital, IMO. She's incredibly a beautiful woman inside and out! It takes time and mental strength, physical strength to change a completely different way of living all the changes that's happened to her. Day by day learning and trying different ways to make living easier for her. I love her honesty and ability to speak about this situation. She would be a great woman to go into hospital's and care places that people are dealing with what's She's been through. She's AMAZING!❤️🙏 BTW, your puppy is so adorable!!

I love how he edits the video to show them, talking about something traumatic and generally not a good experience, and then cuts to them talking about stuff that makes them happy. He does this a lot in his videos and it's a great, subtle way to show that despite all the awful stuff people go through there's always something to smile about

I never noticed this before but you’re absolutely right! It also helps viewers who may be more sensitive to the traumatic topics to have an easier time watching the videos. It makes it more accessible and easier to watch for everyone, and like you said, shows that life with disability is so much more than just the difficult stuff. He really does do an amazing job.

I love her honesty and her smile. Her love for her dog is so pure. She has such a beautiful spirit and energy. I call my cat my tri-pawd baby, pirate kitty was her old nickname so I loved her shirt when I saw it. We rescued her as an abandoned kitten and she needed a hind leg/tail amputation the next day to be able to thrive and get around. She is so loved and has been my emotional support animal. I know this is nothing compared to what Wyndi went through but it reminded me of both their strength and will to get through things with the love of a family.

Yes! I couldn't help but think the same about her smile and her spirit! It is such a bright light in the room, I'd just love to spend time with her! If those old friends cannot see this then they're not worth your time, Wyndi. But I hope it's just a case of not knowing what would be okay to invite you to and having to get used to your different physical appearance without feeling sad for you for what you lost. I know I'd feel sad and helpless had I been your friend before the accident and then seeing you after. I hope your friends can overcome this together with you soon. :) Personally, I just plain admire who you are. I wish you the very best and hope to see an update from you someday!

Wyndi, if you have not yet sued the hospital, please do so before the time limit runs out. The strep was almost certainly picked up at the hospital, and they are the ones responsible for failing to maintain proper protocols. You are going to need funds to maintain a good quality of life. Find a personal injury attorney who will take your case on a contingency basis, preferably one who specializes in medical malpractice. He will need to be in the county where the injury occurred. All the best to you!
@kavitadeva Жыл бұрын
That's kind of you. Indeed I hope she could find a great medical malpractice Attorney. Some people just don't think that way unfortunately.
@getitoutofme Жыл бұрын
Good advice, but don't forget that you can't win a case just for picking up MRSA or strep. You need to be able to prove that the medical team did act negligently (for example, re-using needles, not identifying symptoms of infection, poor disinfection procedures, lack of PPE etc). There is always a chance of catching strep infections in hospital, in fact you can even become infected in everyday life if you get a cut as strep naturally resides on the skin. You need to prove that it was a direct cause of specific medically negligent behaviours to be able to successfully sue.

i feel a great deal of kinship with this woman. you can absolutely intensely feel how much a normal, lower class, middle american she is. this experience is so unfair. the idea that people go through this strife, you can hear her trying her very hardest to be strong, but vulnerable. the way she shows her wristbrace hand solution. she's clearly somewhat afraid of derision, but proud that she has a solution that keeps her self sufficent, self reliant. she, even more than some other adult/independent living SBSK interviewees, feels extremely like she could of been any of the rest of us, we could be her at some point in our lives. i hope she knows love her whole life.

Oh my gosh your story is shockingly similar to mine. I fell off a cliff and was rescued by helicopter. I also don’t remember my first helicopter ride because I was unconscious! I was in a coma for three months and it took me two years to learn to walk (no amputations, just nerve damage from the TBI). I had suicidal ideation and was diagnosed with PTSD, and it’s hard sometimes because I don’t know what God’s doing, but I know He’s there. Like you, I should be dead. I’m so so so grateful that you shared your experiences. You’ve made me so happy and so hopeful.

Wow, becoming disabled at 40 must be so hard. I mean, by that point you must think you have your life figured out, and then having to adjust to losing both your feet and hands, and so unexpectedly too, now wonder you struggled! But you're doing amazingly! It always amazes me how much people with limbs missing can actually do! Like, you think no legs no way you could walk, but nope! It's just incredible! And don't let anyone tell you you're not beautiful, because you are! I know how hard it can be to deal with big changes in your appearance, it can take a long time until you look in the mirror and really relate to what you see and fully recognise it as you. Like obviously you know it's you, but on one level it's not how you feel you should look like. I went through that when I gained a lot of weight and changed shape a lot in my teenage years... it took many years for my body to feel right. So yeah I know it's hard when it's so different, and even more differences for you, but you still look really beautiful. And you don't look like you're in your forties! I was surprised to hear that, you look younger! Keep being you and being amazing.

Man, I'm in tears listening to this video. My mom was paralyzed from the chest down after an accidental overdose in 2020 and became wheelchair bound. Everything you described was exactly what she had described to me. The isolation, the loneliness, the embarrassment and loss of independence. She completely isolated herself. I can count on one hand the amount of times she let us go in public with her but every time we did she ended up in tears from the amount of people who stared at her. She was extremely insecure due to her tracheostomy hole and always tried to wear scarfs to hide it. She couldn't wait to get that fixed. I wish she could've watched this video. I wish she would've stayed around a little longer to realize that life didn't end when she lost her ability to walk. She could have found her independence again, she could have lived a full life and still be here today. June 4th 2022 my momma went to the hospital for pneumonia, the third time that year, she wasn't doing well at all and her oxygen levels were around 70%. 9PM that night she placed a DNR on herself and had them shut off her oxygen and turn on a morphine drip. By 4am, June 5th, my momma was gone. I got to talk to her one last time, she told me she was sorry and she couldn't do it anymore, this was her chance to go. I miss her every day and every time I see these videos I can't help but think of her. I wish she could've held on, I wish we could have helped her heal.

With a note from a medical professional, the animal must be accepted, and no extra money can be charged with absolutely no questions asked. Since these unnecessary lock downs, we are all traumatized. We must stand for our rights now, or forever be damned.

@@edie4321 'Unnecessary'? Grow up!

@@HipBeeWitchhey most certainly were. What damage was caused due to fear was and is devastating. Grow up, get educated and stop being a victim of propaganda. Btw, before you say a thing, I am a registered respiratory therapist of 20 years, and we are the ones that were in the thick of the pandemic. The way things were handled was nefarious, to say the least, and the whole thing was overly exaggerated to the core and so poorly handled by our corrupt government. This is not a right or left issue, just the truth.

@@ck4603 What would you rather do: Not being able to see your family members for 1 week while you quarentine? Or getting a call from the hospital, informing you that they're dead? Oh! And let's not forget about Long Covid, the amount of heart problems & heart attacks people have suffered after contracting the virus, & the Chronically Ill who ALREADY had enough restrictions PRE-Covid!

Oh sweet lady. God bless you . I'm so sorry that you had to go through this. The things that could happen to any of us in an instant. Keep working on your life. We know from all the people who have had to struggle forward after something tragic that it CAN be done. I pray you will make huge progressive steps.

Omg wow!! I have no words. This lady has amazed me beyond words. I can’t imagine how hard that was. I know a 7 year old that had his leg amputated because of a lawn mower when he was just 6. I know this sounds so much worse, but think about it. He has his whole entire life to adapt to those changes, meanwhile she’s been living a normal life for 40 years, until one day she isn’t. Losing a leg/arm is devastating no matter what, and I support anyone out there struggling with this. The 7 year old that I know has taught me so much about amputees and how hard it can be. But there’s still so much out there people like him and her can do! My young friend has actually continued his gymnastics classes even after losing his leg, and he still plays rough with his brothers and has lots of fun.

Seriously, I wish I lived closer because I just know we’d be friends and I’d be going out to lunches and dinners and hanging out all the time! I’d love to hang out with you! I pray some of your friends see this and learn the error and reach out and reconnect.

This is a woman of tremendous faith & strength. I don’t have a physical disability, nor do I know anyone who is physically disabled, but Wyndi’s story touched my heart & gave me awareness of handicapped people. Thank you for sharing your story with us. You’ve got a community of folks here who appreciate & accept you for who you are!
