Beautifully produced video, kudos to the videographer, one thing that is becoming common place in disc builds is facing the wheel mount points to ensure that the wheel aligns properly everytime to prevent disc rub and annoying fitment when refitting the wheel. Don't know if this was done off camera? I do know my bike shop does this to ensure good alignment

If you're going to use a spacer above the stem then at least cut the steerer tube long enough to come up past the stem top by a millimeter or so.
@n1chbuuhm4 жыл бұрын
1:48 What's the point of small spacer ring, if the fork is already cut below it? Creates a impression that stem can be put higher, but i believe it can't as it would compromise integrity. Or is it wrong to think so? Has anyone tried tightening carbon fork with a bolt Above it's highest point?
@n0ch91c3s4 жыл бұрын
Although it's possible that the particular top cap used sinks down in the middle so much that it contacts the compression plug before applying compression, I believe you are right and it's simply an error. There are a few errors in this video so far, and I'm only at 1:51.

9:02 so how do you tighten this bolt if you don't have a cut away saddle? Promo video at the end is nicely done.
@davecech4741 Жыл бұрын
A little tardy with my reply here...I had the same concern, and here is what I did. I originally purchased some allen keys with a long handle and short neck, but even with that specific tool, it was problematic to get to the bolt and tighten it sufficiently with a closed saddle. I wound up investing in a Romin mirror saddle (very expensive, but immediately became my favorite saddle - it's really, really good) and I access the top bolt through the printed mesh. Probably not what Specialized intended, but it works. I love this bike...I am running 700x32c tires and the flexibility the bike offers to efficiently tackle all sorts of terrain is impressive.

There is already bikes of this Calibre, it just has discs. Nothing new to see here, my local bike shop has built 5kg bikes, so very achievable with rim and tubular rims
@motluv4 жыл бұрын
Waynos Fotos two things: 1) your bike shop built it, not a bike from a manufacturer and 2) if a bike has tubulars and rim brakes it isn’t the same.
@waynosfotos4 жыл бұрын
Thomas Sawyer Exactly! This bike is $17k Australian!!! I can buy and build a custom frame for that money, built to my exact fit. Yes if this production model was cheaper your argument would stand. For a bike out of China, and what the price is, it is not good money spent. Tubulars and rim brakes are old tech, so were is the advancement? Yes it is light for a disc brake bike, but not for bikes in general.
@motluv4 жыл бұрын
Waynos Fotos our discussion isn’t about how much it is. Price follows the product and my comment was about other companies following suit with a bike in this category. Your argument could apply to ANY level of bike.
@waynosfotos4 жыл бұрын
Thomas Sawyer Your kidding me right? I answered your question up above go read. Price does not follow product as you say, Is this bike 11k better than a Giant TCR with ultegra at $6k or worth 3 of those bikes? You need to compare apples with apples and at this price point there is a LOT of very nice bikes including custom builds. You can’t look at it in isolation.
