@adrianbruno-mba Жыл бұрын
Hi, I was actually offered a spot at NYU's MSRE program but declined joining after all. Both programs, the MSRED and MSRE, are great if you want to enter the world of Real Estate! MSRED is more focused on RE development and gives you more exposure to that field. If you are looking to work in RE on the East Coast, then NYU is the school to choose!!
@deathmonkeygun
@deathmonkeygun Жыл бұрын
@@adrianbruno-mba Thank you for your reply! So if I am not sure about the geographic focus (europe or united states) would you choose Columbia or even another program like MBA berkeley with a major in real estate? Actually I heard that Columbia is way better than NYU in this field + reputation. I am from Switzerland and thinking about doing a grad degree in the US. So maybe you can help me a bit out in this matter.
@adrianbruno-mba
@adrianbruno-mba Жыл бұрын
@@deathmonkeygun If you are interested in Real Estate, you should definitely consider Columbia or NYU, whichever school admits you (and gives you a scholarship). MIT also has a great MSRED program. The good thing about an MSRE or MSRED is that you are specialized and you will be exposed to potential employers in the RE space. On the other hand, an MBA will give you more options to choose from if you end up not liking RE.

I am sorry. Could you give me an advice? I have 7 years experiment in software development. I decided to study master in CS early this year and I found every course easy for me, and I do not learn to much. And I thinking about MBA, it have some value I looking for like leadership. Should I change my major? Thank you. (I consider because I am do not have citizenship or nationality, It is ok if I get MBA and continute work as software engineer?)

Hi David! If you are already halfway through the program, I would just finish it and then apply for an MBA. It also depends on your plans after the MBA. You need to ask yourself if an MBA is beneficial for you or whether it would get you to the same goal as the software development degree.

Hi Adrian, what are your thoughts on IE University Madrid? I was thinking of going for their programs in either Digital Marketing or Strategic Marketing and Communication. But situation somewhat changed as my last employer refused to give me an LOR. Now since I am carrying a few years of experience in marketing, do you think I should straight up go for an MBA or still consider a specialist masters degree? My total years of relevant marketing experience is still less than 2 as of now.

Hello i am a paediatrician looking to work in the humanitarian field with early trauma response, i thought of sn MBA because i think the goal requires a sustainable solution that doesn't rely solely on aid. I guess my focii are entrepreneurship, startup, analysis, data, and alumni.

Hi, not sure if an MBA is the right thing for you given your goal. An MBA will teach you the fundamentals of doing business. You might want to look into MPH (Master of Public Health) programs. Harvard has a great one for example. It's a growing field and more and more schools are offering this. You should take a look into it
@namulimonica7678
@namulimonica7678 5 ай бұрын
@@adrianbruno-mba I have looked into the mph and I have been admitted into John's Hopkins for next year intake. However I want to look at the aid disparity in a business format and the fact that the strain of dealing with trauma and it's resulting consequences, too many to list, is something that can't be easily dealt with without having a more sustainable and business oriented model. I think when a war crisis for example happens no one knows how long it will last, and most of the responses are for basic needs, however it does end and life has to go on, but that exposure to so much adversity ib childhood has far reaching negative outcomes and when i think of an MBA i want to learn the business aspect and in the future realise this goal. I don't expect to do this immediately but I love business and think of all aspects as a transaction of sorts, asking for help isn't the solution, resolving the problem with as with a business is how i want to go about it. The mph is basically to get the credibility, some research skills and a platform, the MBA if I can get consulting work and slowly accumulate skills for my desired goal, plus a network, combining the two will make it easier to create proposals, and maybe contribute to what is already existing. What do you think about this. I am not looking to only do the giving, I also would like financial freedom for myself especially if my goal is to be achieved I need to be adept in financial matters so my own situation doesn't hold me back. ....

Hi Sumit, they're both solid schools. Personally, I would go with Boston University because it is bigger, and hence, has a bigger alumni network for you to network with. @@adrianbruno-mba sir Boston is 12-15k more expensive than Babson but also has a high brand name and network (also Boston didn’t gave me any scholarship whereas Babson gave me a scholarship of 5k) so should I still accept Boston. I'm a young entrepreneur with a tuition company and now an EdTech company (startup). I have 4 years of proper experience through age 16-20 but I have never been employed. I've generated more income than some graduate roles offer though, annually. As a result, I have saved up enough money to do an MSc or an MBA. I graduate next year with a major (bachelor of science) in Actuarial Science. I'm looking into an MSc in Finance, but am not sure whether it would be better to do an MBA. I'm just not sure how to move on forward with my career. I want to study more since my career is focused on education and consultancy. I want to continue building my startup and study. What is better for me - an MSc or an MBA? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Adam. Even though you have great experience, I think you are a little bit too young for a top-tier MBA. I am sure you could make it into a lower tier MBA program, but I am assuming that is not what you are aiming for. Unless you sold your company for a couple of million dollars and have proof of that, it will be tough to be accepted for an MBA at a leading business school. With that in mind, I would rather do an MSc in Finance. Another option would be to find a job a company with a strong brand, maybe in Tech or EdTech, work a couple years and then apply for a top-tier MBA program. I hope that helps!
