Nope. The rubber one this pair was just that soft.

Well made shoe will last you forever. Bought a pair of Carnac Sahara's in the early 1990s. Replaced the valcro a few times and had the sole glued in spots. It was a great Italian made shoe and durability and repairability of the shoes is awesome. They are beefy and heavy which is a trade off for the longevity of the shoe.

by all means, i got a pair of Mavic shoes that lasted me for 10yrs ... like everything else, it's all about technology .. so , can't wait to try out my new Recon 3.0's

I like the having the option to repair. Even then though, it all depends on the terrain you’re having to walk on. Tons of rocks here in North Texas and in Bentonville where I spend most of my miles.

Is it suitable for wide feet?

My feet are on the wider side. They felt great. I got a pair of Giro Sector after these and they are noticeably more narrow.

@@pedalandypedalhey man, can you share your foot width by any chance? Thanks in advance!

Why not an enduro show like the Giro Chamber 2 ?

I have and like those too. I prefer the xc style shoes more though. I like how they fit around the foot much more closely than the skate shoe style uppers.

@@pedalandypedal I’m not really a fan of the skate shoe look, I’ve been trying to find a balance between the two.
