This is why I went to bike mechanics school and got educated as a bike mechanic in Denmark! Thought I would be doing stuff like this but it was all about making money and getting as much bikes though the shop as possible! So I stopped when we got kids, maybe I’ll be able to get my own little bike repair shop at some point! This is what’s it’s all about! Great stuff, love it!

Brilliant service. VERY few bike shops in the USA would ever do this detailed a service. Shop employees are often not very skilled and not motivated. There are exceptions but I never have my bike serviced at a shop. I learned the hard way I was better off doing the work myself, cheaper and better.

Hi to you Mr voiceover! I am having so much fun watching your videos! The reason? your running commentary and the timelapse video and your commentary make your video so brilliant. The speed at which the video plays does mean that for me I don't have to sit for such a long time. It is almost like when people say"`Dude get to the point!" I just love it and I also appreciate that these videos are not easy to make and edit! BTW the time is 5:35pm and I have just subscribed. Hope that you have many more subscribers in the future.

An old toothbrush with degreaser works well.
@jackcheney139
@jackcheney139 2 жыл бұрын
Really, as long as the parts can sit for a spell in some warm water and degreaser, then get agitated with a detailing brush, they’ll come out pretty clean. Sonic cleaners really come in clutch with chains and cassettes, but again, the same method can work pretty well on those too.
@jamesshepherd9154
@jamesshepherd9154 2 жыл бұрын
For dirty chains, a good shake in a container of degreaser does a good job, even better with two rounds
@Jacksparrow4986
@Jacksparrow4986 2 жыл бұрын
Start with hot water and soap if you don't want to buy stuff. Brush, degreaser/aggressive soap when you have a little money to spare. For chains there are chain cleaners that you can use without taking your chain off - quicker but maybe less thorough, if you don't have masterlinks on your chain nand your chain is still good I'd give them a shot, 10€ or so.

Great video thank you very much for all your work and time. Lots of tips and tricks I am using for my bike. I was surprised to see you use copper slip for the head set bearings on the steerer tube vs. Grease? Any difference for that area that make copper slip a better lubricant? When would you use it vs. Grease? Thank you.

Great channel and enjoy seeing the level of effort you go to - can really see your love of a getting a bike just right! Only thing is, car polish does not protect a surface it actually 'cuts' the finish as it is abrasive (a very fine one). That's why it is so good at getting dirt and marks off and leaving the surface shiny as it smooths/flattens it out. You need to put a wax or similar on after polishing to put a protective layer on.

sterling work, as ever. I'd really like to see what you would do with a bike that isn't in a bit of a state. I am sure you could feature a bike where the owner is already looking after their steed, at least somewhat. I think the extra bits you habitually do in your videos make an enormous difference between amateur mechanic and experienced professional 👊🏼
