@@AnthonysReelSlotvideos Unless if your N* is physically dripping on your driveway from either the upper or lower oil pan gaskets, you’re most likely burning oil rather than leak. But most Northstars at this point do both. In face they were designed to burn a little bit of oil to keep up with its high performance design. The cylinder walls were bored using a hex pattern within the wall itself to allow a small amount of oil to be burned to keep the piston rings lubricated. I also add oil to my N* every 1,200-1,500 miles or depending how the dipstick reads when I check it every couple weeks.

Beautiful!! I remember watching these cars being unloaded at the various Cadillac dealers that I visited in the past. I always loved this body style and still do. These are the last true-breed Cadillac's from the past era that are so much better than the newer ones. Something about an older car and an older model speaks much louder than new cars. I really hope this goes to the right new owner just as all the other nice ones showcased by Anthony here!

The car has features I did not know it had. Thank you for sharing that. You are right people are still afraid of the Northstar V8. I knew the worked the bugs out, but did not know when. I thought the video showed a lot and was informative. I was not a fan of the headlight design on this model or the analog gauges or the seat controls being on the side of the seat. It is sad it was the last of its kind. I do miss car like this. People may argue but what about CT6. CT6 does not have a large trunk. I thank you for sharing what you sell and your knowledge on these cars.

You can tell on the older DTS North Stars by looking on the back of the trunk. If it says 32 valve Northstar, that's the trash Northstar engine. But if it has the silver compass and the Northstar embedded into it with small print. That's the rebuilt GOOD one. I still want an '05 with navigation and Vogue tires!

Very nice car. Drove 3 Caddy's during my working years. Love them all, but the 90 Sedan Deville was the best, followed by the 03 DHS, and finally the lemon from 2005...had transmission and leaking head gaskets. Stopped buying them because they didn't hold their value and they put bucket seats in the front ( instead of the bench which would allow seating for 6). Brought a 09 Mercedes and haven't returned to a Cadillac since , they are not what they once were. It's a shame .

All Northstar engines are great. Any engine troubles is a direct result from not being properly maintained. But you are correct, because this is a terrific car being the last of the true-breed Cadillac's from the past era.

The 2008 DTS PERFORMANCE EDITION WAS A GOOD ONE TOO FULLY LOADED NAVI WITH 18”. Wheels and it had the big 292-300 hp northstar

Engine size didn’t make the difference unfortunately. All they did to make the regular 275 turn into 300 HP was time the cams differently or I believe they added completely different cam shafts but that’s about it as far as I know.

Although a very clean Caddy, the DTS is a little too bland for my taste. I used to own a 94 Fleetwood Brougham , now that thing was a tank and road so smooth. But even the 93-96 Fleetwoods IMO were cheapened and the interior looked very generic compared to say the 77-92 Fleetwoods and Broughams which have one of my favorite Cadillac interiors. As a owner of a 87 Brougham D’Elegance and a 64 Cadillac SDV, the older Cads were way better built and were way more comfortable and reliable too. Not to mention the old styling was all distinctively Cadillac.

Nice car but just a little worried about the miles. After the math, that would total only about 3k per year so it did a lot of sitting. Not good for engine due to carbon buildup etc. Low miles is good but Not necessarily a good thing depending on the whole picture. Anyway still nice car. I have a 2011 premium as well bought new. Many oil leaks and rack and pinion replacements. Luckily I bought an extended warranty.

U can rub vaseline around the sun roof in the summer and once in the winter that will keep that rubber fresh and from cracking I'm a manager in the service department at a Cadillac dealership in Arkansas thanks

I have owned two of these things. The ride and the comfort were unsurpassed, however the engines were total junk, neither of them lasted beyond 90,000 miles. Cost over $1500 to replace the damn alternator! Finally traded the last one for a Genesis and have never been happier.

Very beautiful cars ,,,,, safe, solid, elegant,,,,, but the Northstar engine absolutely destroyed the Cadillac brand in regards to reliability & these 32 valve engines were a nightmare with head gasket issues, endless leaks & very expensive repairs. Perhaps if Cadillac had the supercharged 3.8 litre V6 engine that Buick used, than these cars would of been extremely popular. I personally own a 1996 Buick Park Ave Ultra with over 300.000 K & it is perhaps the most reliable vehicle I have owned with excellent gas mileage like over 35 mpg on the highway. Perhaps Cadillac needs to overhaul the brand & develop vehicles that reflect American luxury with a focus on reliability & obvious that GM is failing to compete with so many other luxury brands,,,,, especially from Japan & South Korea or even the Ford Lincoln brand. Nobody wants to spend perhaps well over $100.000 on a Cadillac if the competition is superior in quality & reliability.

I loved my 99.. terrible engine.. i mean it was strong, quiet, and pretty good on gas, but man o man.. reliability was appalling.. I now have a Mercury Grand Marquis LS, which has been way more reliable, but nowhere near as nice of a ride as the Cadillac. 2002 they added a deeper thread to the head bolts, this helped but didn't fix the issue, in 2008 they added deeper threads and inserts in the block, these also helped but didn't fix the issue.. the only known fix is to pull an 08+ motor and use the northstar performance kit to add the super-threaded head bolts at which point it does fix the head gasket issue.. but these engines are prone to upper oil pan gasket leaks, rear valve cover gasket leaks, early failures to the water pumps, they have issues with the ecm, and issues with the electrical systems and water seepage. The radiator design also is prone to the stupid radiators clogging and causing head gasket failures, coolant fan issues.. even this one while you were doing your review i noticed the coolant temp climbing, you can see it at 11:17 that you are climbing.

No check it out the problem with the overheating and blowing the gasket and the motor happened to a lot of The Cadillacs with the Northstar engine from 1993 to 2000 and 2001 they have fixed the problem it was a boat that was too small and when they loosened up it calls the antifreeze you're going to the motor but that problem got fixed in 2001
