Scotty, My 2009 GMC Sierra with 95,000 miles has an ac system that almost always works just fine. But when it gets really hot outside like the other day, it sometimes keeps switching from pulling inside air to pulling outside air and not cooling properly. But then when I keep pushing the inside air button after a minute or so, it goes back to working just fine! What do you think - could it be the AC Pressure switch, and if so can I repair that myself or will I lose all the coolant when I disconnect the old one?

This car actually puts out 304 hp (with direct inject 3.6). The reason they didn't sell well last year was because they were way overpriced. Not because they broke down or were crappy, just 50,000+ was too high for what it was. Also this car is all wheel drive (did you see the little 4 by the CTS badge)?

The WatchJrGo channel is fixing this 3.6 "high feature" timing chain issue on a 2010 Camaro - same engine, same PCV problem. GM engineers probably wrote internal memos on this issue a long time before it was common knowledge. I think it would have been a simple and cheap recall to fix the PCV issue - otherwise the 3.6 engine isn't too bad, but that's not what the public thinks now. Why didn't GM fix the issue for free a decade ago?

One of the first cars I recall was a 1956 Cadillac Fleetwood - I went over to it and hugged the tire - when I was in College in Oklahoma I bought a 12 year old 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood - I grew up in Houston, Tx and on break I would drive the Fleetwood from OKC to Houston - leaving @ midnight I would arrive in Houston @ 5:00 AM . @@H1storybr3akdown Between the 2014-2015 Cadillac CTS V sport models, there is just recently a highway safety recall on the rear axle/ slip differential failing. The pins with a single sheer design tend to get overwhelmed over time and break off which leads to the differential locking up. The parts were made in many locations and with various parts, so not every model is affected. I went and did the job anyway as a prevention, but my service provider at heritage cadillac in Morrow, GA didn't do a VIN search to see if my car needed it. I believe mine didn't from latter research. Anyhow, my differential locked up and failed a month and a half after the recall work and I'm ruing this entire car at this point. I'm also dealing with a P0017, crank position sensor code, it's bank 1 exhaust position, so that's B, which is over the passenger side of the engine bay. I did my ignition coils and spark plugs and had to do an EVAP purge valve replacement since the code before this was a leak in the EVAP system.

I owned a 2008 CTS and had it for 11 years. This was a fantastic car that was very reliable. Never an engine problem. The only issue was I had to replace the bearings all around over the life of the car. Other than that very few issues. The only reason i got rid of it is because it got into an accident and it cost too much to repair vs the value of an 11 year old car. So i bought a 2018 CTS and love it. Scotty makes so many generalizations it's crazy. Funny how Cadillac has recently been second in initial quality while BMW and Mercedes are at the back of the pack. I also own a Cadillac XT5 which was not moving and smashed into by a Lexus RX. The Lexus came out way worse than my XT5 in that collision. Be honest and stop with your biased reviews. There are other brands than Toyota and Lexus, and GM makes some great cars these days, Cadillac being one of them. How do I know, cause I've owned many brands and keep going back to Cadillac cause they have been the most reliable for me. How people trust his feedback is beyond me, this dude has zero credibility.

@@rafidalbotany1109 there is no luck with it, I buy used luxury cars at auctions, and I found alot of luxury brands, not just Cadillac has issues used, the reason the first owner got rid of it and now the dealer is auctioning it off, is because the first owner dogged it out and left all of the issues for the next man, and if you are not the type that can fix any issue with the car, I would avoid buying any luxury brand used, they normally have issues. cheap cars no matter the brand will outlast a luxury version because it has less electronics and gadgets to go wrong, that's just how cars work, also if you dont drive the v6 like a v8, they tend to last longer, it all comes down to the person that drives the car and how they keep their foot in the gas peddle everyday like its a nascar

@@abrahambustos4843 - I would say it depends on the price and service history. Make absolutely sure it's had regular oil changes all its life, especially if it's the 3.6 because they are especially sensitive to that. If it's a good price and it's been well-maintained, I'd say go for it. Wes Brown bought a 2006 cts 2.8 as is from a Kia dealership trade in un certified 2018 . The cts was in mint condition I checked for sludge none transmission was nice and clean diamond white 18 inch factory rims . I redid all the brakes cost me $ 300.00 4 new tires $560 checked lights changed oil. Oil undercoated. Repaired sunroof leak and some wiring minor issues $ 130 for local mechanic to do the inspection car must have been in the south during winters it had 0 rust on under body . Any way the cts cost me grand $2500.00certified doing all the work myself .I change oil every 5000 km runs great I also did a upper induction cleaning and it made a huge improvement to performance . Besides using 5-30 synthetic +5 oz motorkote and a quality low restriction quality oil filter I also check oil weekly it uses about a pint between oil changes . The only problem I have is one rear wheel bearings is slightly noisy and I purchased a replacement from car quest $74.95 with abs sensor will be changing it in 2 weeks . Like the car handles well decent milage . Waxed the car couple of times it literally looks new , the cts won’t be winter driven here in Ontario Canada as road have more salt on them than some of the fast food French fry’s and kill cars and trucks in less than 8 years . My daily driver is a 3.8 2004 Grand Prix with 408000 km on the clock which also gets regular maintenance . As a teen student I worked at a village gm dealership and did everything from body work ,paint ,detailing, paint restoration, assisting mechanics rebuilding engines and transmission, undercoating, and many other duties it was a great addition to shop class . Once I graduated from college electronics I gave up the car business but not my love of cars and my home shop is well equipped to paint and do most mechanical repairs

My dad learned his lesson on owning a Cadillac when he purchased a 6 year old 96 El Dorado with 92,000 miles for $6000, of course it had the death-star engine in it, but he changed his oil every 3000 miles and after one year he had to put a quart in it every 3-4 weeks because the oil pan gasket developed a bad leak. He took it to the neighborhood garage where he gets a lot of things done and they called him back 2 hours later, come and get your car, we can't change the gasket without pulling the engine. He keep it for 6 more months and in that time frame, anything that had a fluid in it leaked, including the freon in the AC system. He got $3500 on a trade in for a 99 Lincoln Continental, that was a GOOD car until my older sister totaled, that poor car was laid to rest at the local LKQ Salvage Yard.

It makes sense for Cadillac to be moving fast toward 100% electric cars....they've definitely shown that they do not know how to design internal combustion engines.

My Dad would buy used Cadillacs. In 1968, his 1958 Chevrolet Yeoman Station Wagon was having problems with the Powerglide transmission, and he bought his first Cadillac, a 1963 model 62 four door. Later, he sold that and bought a used 1965 Calais. I loved the next one. It was a 1970 Fleetwood. Pure Luxury. The last one he had was a 1975 Sedan DeVille. My favorites were the '63 and the '70. Although, when they needed to be serviced or repaired, I would take care of that, and he would drive my car. A Studebaker.

loved the one I had except the oil problem will ruin the cats. Rear wheel drive independent suspension is only second to BMW. Get a CTSV and you've got a real fun driver.

He doesn't care. He is all about supporting rice burners and bashing ALL American made cars. I would take a CTS over a little rice burner any day.

That CTS will last just as long as any luxury rice burner if maintained the same. By the way the 3.6 CTS engine is 335 horse , not 265 as he says.

Scotty is not nearly as smart as he thinks. Good thing ignorant people on KZbin that don’t know any better, keep supporting him by watching his videos. I’ve worked on plenty of Toyota, Acura, Honda’s etc. and know they all break. I’ve seen Toyota Camrys that were not maintained burning oil like crazy!

@@ericg4x4 yeah yeah yeah. Good luck buying Junkie Cars. You CAN"T hide the truth bud. It is a matter of well-earned reputation over the years when it comes to reliability in Japanese cars. You can do and say whatever you want about junk US cars but at the end it is the consumer who ends up paying for premature failures. I 've owned GMs and Fords and I am proud to say that I have quit them cold turkey along long time ago. I only buy Japanese cars now!

Mines currently at 222k miles only problem was timing chain and it still runs good. Do normal oil changes and run premium and it works good

I have a 2005 Cadillac SRX. I love the car! It was my Mother's and she left it to me when she passed in 2015. It definitely is expensive to care for! It's especially hard on brakes and tires. I replaced catylectic converters that were part of the exhaust manifold and that really broke me it was almost 2000 dollars
