You said going for a run doesn’t improve squat performance, and I agree that there should be little to no direct transfer, however… Have we seen any longitudinal data that may suggest periodizing cardiovascular endurance training may improve overall sub-maximal strength endurance performance in the long term, possibly leading to greater allowable work-volumes of training in subsequent micro/meso/macro cycles? I hypothesize that we would see significant effect sizes, but I am not aware of any studies done to address that issue. I also am leaning towards there being a secondary or tertiary benefit to strength from speed, speed-strength, power, and strength-speed training as well. But, again, have seen no studies that can provide evidence for this claim. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, I think you're correct. I thought about that as I was saying it. There is definitely a place for energy system development. Secondary effects become pretty important at advanced stages.

As someone who loves your content... PLEASE reduce the volume on your intro. The main content is so much quieter than the intro and it's way too loud on headphones.
