Speck Presidio2 Pro/Grip/Lux: Great iPhone 15 Pro Protective Cases with ClickLock Mega MagSafe Hold!

Love MagSafe wallets, but worried they might fall off? Speck's new ClickLock technology for iPhone 15 series gives you an amazingly strong MagSafe connection: the most secure I've ever seen. It currently comes in a wallet and a StandyGrip grip stand, as well as a car mount, which I didn't review. The ClickLock system gives you an extra MagSafe locking feature where the bottom ClickLock magnet slots into a small indentation on the ClickLock case. The result is a rock solid hold...the strongest MagSafe connection I've ever seen. The ClickLock Wallet holds 1-3 cards and does not need to be removed from the phone in order to access the cards. And the StandyGrip grip stand has a super strong hold and can be used as an adjustable stand in both portrait and landscape mode as well as helping you keep a good grip on your phone (although the grip function is a bit marginal, in my view. This is best as a stand.)

Other than ClickLock, the Presidio2 Grip, Pro and Lux Grip are just what you would expect from Speck: slim, protective and a great fit on the phone! They all provide the same 13 feet of drop protection with ArmorCloud technology, they have significant recycled content, they have Microban antimicrobial protection, and they have covered action buttons! Just like last year, the camera rim is only three sided on the 15 Pro, but it does provide sufficient protection for your camera lenses if the case is laid on its back on a flat surface. Not tons of protection, but they won't touch as long as the surface is flat. You've got an excellent fit on the phone for all three cases, although the Presidio Lux Grip case has a bit more give around the port openings and buttons areas than the others. And with ClickLock, you've got a fantastic combo with their Wallet and StandyGrip. Lots to love here from Speck!

The buttons aren’t perfect, but they are still quite good. And I’m loving ClickLock!!! And you have super sharp eyes to spot my new series 9 Watch. I’m really enjoying it. It’s a huge upgrade from my series 5, but I doubt it would be that much of an improvement from the series 8. Double tap is a cool concept but for right now, I mostly forget to use it!!

Great review as always! It appeared when you put on the MagSafe charger it was just ok in magnet strength for all the Speck cases, but nothing like say a RhinoShield MagSafe case. Is this correct?

That’s right. I don’t think the Speck cases have super strong magnets …just normal ones. It’s the ClickLock accessories that have the super strong magnets.

Thanks so much!! I primarily use the 15 Pro. Year after year, I get both Pro models for review purposes and I always end up gravitating to the smaller Pro over the Pro Max. The 15 Pro Max is a beautiful phone, and I’m loving the better camera and bigger screen, but it is just harder to hold and fit into pockets and handbags.

The speck case is one of my favorite cases. Unfortunately, in iPhone 15 Pro Max Presidio2 Case, the camera protective bezel and camera lens are almost the same height. So I'm worried about scratches on the lens. I have Speck and Solidsuit, and I also ordered the Rhinoshiled Crystal clear case three days ago. I've never used the iPhone Pro series, so it's hard to say anything, but the Speck presidio2 case for iPod 15 Pro Max is the same size as the 14 Pro Max. Even though 15 Pro Max camera sticks out more than 14 Pro Max.

I haven't gotten a chance to check out the iPhone 15 Pro Max versions of these cases...just the 15 Pro...but there still is sufficient protection for the rear camera so that if the case is laid on a flat surface on its back, the camera lenses won't touch...

Considering grabbing a Presidio 2 Pro or Grip and the wallet, think the wallet would be great for nights out where I only need to carry a couple cards. Would you recommend it? Any worry about the wallet popping off under normal use? Also, any chance of being able to stuff a couple bills in there if you’re only carrying one card? Thanks! Great review

I think it would work great with a couple of cards in it for a night out. It’s the strongest magnetic hold for a MagSafe wallet that I have yet seen. Not sure about the cash idea, though. I’m thinking it might not work too well, but I can’t test it out for you because I’m on vacation currently and I didn’t bring the clicklock wallet along…

Thanks! I hope you love the wallet and Presidio2 combo. I'm back from vacation and just checked out the wallet with some cash, and while it seems to stay in ok, the problem is getting it out again. The system is designed for stiff cards. You slide them in on the one side and push them out from the other side. Cash isn't stiff enough...it doesn't push out well. So...kinda works, but not very well in my view. Great with cards, though...

Hey Kristin good to see speck cases reviewed my presidio grip has buttons that are probably specks worst job on buttons they have ever done. Speck always had nice clicking buttons. However this year they didn’t show up to work on the day they were producing their buttons. Mine are extremely hard to press and the action button is almost impossible to press they have different material they used this year compared to previous years. I took a look how my buttons were setup and it’s only one little piece of plastic i presume that makes contact with the buttons. I have always liked speck but I can’t even use my brand new case because the buttons are so bad. And it really ruins a case when the buttons are awful. Shame on speck they know better they have been making cases since the first iPhone came out they have no excuse for poor quality design for this years buttons. They would be better off to going to floating buttons which a lot of manufacturers have done. So my case sits at the very bottom of my other fabulous cases. And probably I will just throw the case in garbage eventually. I don’t know if all there cases are like this but I’m not prepared to find that out now.

Hi Alicia!! So sorry to hear about your Speck buttons! It sounds to me like you have a defective case. The buttons on mine are very slightly harder to press than they should be, but nothing like you are describing. Have you contacted Speck?
