My only small disappointment was them not using the same actor for Abby’s father , he’s a working actor , and it’s a 2 min part but I guess he’s got an important part in the next season 🤷‍♂️

I get it. I think the inly reason they felt it wasnt as important is because he really only showed up in like maybe two or three flashbacks in TLOU2 but also it was significant enough to change his character model in the remake of TLOU1. They might even put him in as a different character to pay homage in a way like how they had troy baker, ashley johnson, and jeffrey pierce play like side characters in the show. I feel we may see Derek phillips in a small cameo like them. Hes also working on a new motion capture project which could be anything but it basically means he is busy. Unfotunately since niel druckmann was working on the show idk if its a new last of us he is working on.

@@FatboySips no doubt , but I’d bet the farm he’s all over the new game, it seems like that why they are having another studio work on Uncharted, he can only do so much , I bet we’ll get a teaser for game around the time either season 2 or 3 premiers.

It's more in regards to the 1st game, but I think it was to give the inpression how much this doctor didn't matter to Joel. Before the 2nd game came out I did not give this man a second thought so the fact that the role was given to a minor actor showcases what we the viewer thought of this man and when it's revealed in the show it's gonna be funny how much of an impact he has when Joel doesn't even know his name.

I was almost disappointed for a minute that we didn’t get more from the Fireflies perspective this episode, but the Anna flashback did enough and I realized that it would be much better placed in the next season or 2 when they’re adapting Part II and they can expand that flashback to Abby and her dad at the hospital, maybe setting up her relationship with Owen and Mel.

Season 2 needs to have at least one episode with Abby and her father. In the game we hardly got 10 minutes of their story, but who knows how far they'll expand it in the adaptation.

I love the show's detail of Marlene moving towards the exit the second she senses a threat from Joel, so that she doesn't have a wall behind her. She thought she was talking to the Joel she knew, who wouldn't give a shit about what she's telling him. You can see Marlene realise "oh shit, he isn't happy with this".

Joel didn't kill those people and Jerry the doctor. It was Marlene. If SHE wasn't so fucking selfish by not allowing Joel to see Ellie or at least let him say goodbye to her, Hell if they hadn't knocked them out in the first place. All their deaths would've been avoided. So this was totally on her.

Every line delivered in the show just seems forced and unnatural when compared with the game, like they're trying too hard to emulate the game performances but at the same time say the lines in a way they think sounds better but it always sounds inferior.

I hate to say it, but for me the show is an undeniable downgrade from the game in the performances. The voice acting in the game is perfection, they just didn’t do a good job replicating the complexity in the dialogue.

Awesome edit! Thank you for making this! I've watched my kid play both games. But I need to play it myself. I can tell my kid noticed things, picked up on subtitles I missed because they were playing. I need to have the full experience. These games have been deeply healing for us both. Both games are about healing from trauma.

I feel like Bella in this episode tried to portray Ellie being really numb and distracted due to her traumatic experience with David, and for the most part I'd say its a great performance, but when it comes to the "after all we've been through" line, it does feel a bit forced, like others have said, it sounds unnatural and like those are lines she is reading, not thinking. Not sure what could of been done to make that part better, but still.

For sure just like Ellie is in the game that part in the game where Ellie is zoning out after the David ordeal she’s staring at a deer on a wall and can’t hear Joel talking to her is one of those moment right out of the game , BR does a pretty good job copying the game beat for beat

i think show ellie was talking too much like a tv character. i think bella knows this, and is trying to make ellie try to sound cool, but you stop acting like you’re cool when you reach past 8. it just makes bella feel like she’s trying to dumb down ellie- treating her like a young kid.

Seeing the comparison of the two makes the show feel less impactful. I've played the game many, many times, and still can't get over it. The show I don't want to see as many times, except episode 3. It just feels so off, like there's not much emotion

The bella is alright, but she doesn't display as much emotion in her words or expressions. Sounds like she's just reading from a piece of paper sometimes. Pedro got it down perfect.
