Hi there i am from the UK, the vest we did not use much in Afghan as we would take the pouches off the vest and place them on our Osprey body amour. the closure on the pouches the way you have them is for quick access you can take the longer tag that you pull on and feed it throw the closure to ensure it dose not open

On that knife, I've never gotten a strap cutter on a knife to work. I recommend having a dedicated seat belt cutter from Benchmade, mine sliced through a cardboard recycle bin like butter.

The vest is used over the top of body armour and is used instead of pouches on body armour for some guys who carry ruck sacks I have seen these in Afghan and they are wonderful also awesome video keep up good content and always do what you love. You were the youtuber who got me into prepping

Hey Sootch! That cutter in the RUI knive is mainly for cutting seatbelts and it works fine, but you must know how does it really works. You take the seat belt and put your cutter almost parallel to the belt, not the way you tried it, and pull all the way down until it is done. It isn't easy hahahaha but i'm sure you know how does it work!! Keep uploading these great videos Greatings from Spain!

Regarding that stove I think probably it's designed to run on gel. A lot of the military systems are transitioning from trioxane and hexamine to alcohol-based gels. If you want to give it a try a similar product is the sterno fire starter gel sold at Walmart in the sporting goods section.

sub boxes are pretty cool. Some have really cool and useful gear and some are crap thrown together just to take ur money. do research on the company, the items they offer, and return policy for items that arrive broken or defective. yes, Sootch, more sub boxes plz. I hadnt heard of this one until now. i like the concept and the items. Your review was right on as usual. thumbs up! (in my opinion Battlbox is top dog. This one seems comparable.)

I enjoy the subscription box reviews. I have subscriptions to a few. I don't have a Spec. Ops subscription, it's not really a good match for me. They do seem to have great products though. I didn't know, until your video, they sold all them box items individually on their website. There are some items I'm definitely interested in and will check out their site. Thanks for the video and for bringing that to my attention.

Guys. And Sootch. I'm headed out on a deep sea fishing trip Friday. In destin, Florida. I want to bring an emergency backpack just in case someone was to get injured or worst case scenario. Another boat wants to follow us. So to speak. What are some things you would pack? How much ammo? I know that's a very low risk deal. But what are some other things that could be very useful and easy to obtain? Thanks!

Hey dude I live in the uk and have served up until recently, we stopped using the exact same vest around 3 years ago swapping it out for the mtpt shite we have now! But a bad ass assault vest nun the lest! Mostly favoured by drivers as its all on the chest. Any way grate video hope all is well

I don't think the Brits use that vest anymore. MAYBE some rear echelon type units but I think they've been phased out for a while. Not that it matters as it still works for a basic setup if not a bit bulky.

I'm not seeing anything really special, hard-to-get or valuable. $5 matches, $5 pocket stove, knife of less than $20 retail (and it partly fails) - I'd have to say to the company "come on ? ! "

nice looking sub box. I haven't subscribed to any monthly box subs, I have considered Battle Box. $150 is steep but you get cool stuff in the boxes usually 3-4 pieces cool each month. I still think all the boxes over value the gear in the box. I have seen battlebox quote a knife price at $125 (or close to it) and I found the same knife for $75....so that is sketchy. It is cool to get gear and not have to buy it separately. Still might do it.That strap cutter was definitely a joke with it not working. Looks like a descent folding knife tho and you can always use a knife. The assault vest looked enormous, could carry a camp for 2 on that thing. I like the fact spec ops gets stuff from all over the world from different spec ops teams, but I have seen many boxes and know for a fact there is multiple things in each box I would just toss in the garbage because I would have no use for them, but other gear is cool as hell. Anyway good video man.

the one thing IMHO you did wrong is with the impact tool you don't ever want to use it with your third knuckle because that allows for some one to pry it out of your grip and wrench breaking your finger in the loop and also limits the range impact strikes, swinging the tool out of your palm with your finger in the loop.

Man, I'd like for you to retry that strap cutter. Take a piece of nylon webbing just like you had, nail both ends to a board with it pulled tight then slide the tool under and across the webbing. I know that's a waste of your time, but now I really want to know if it works or not? lol

i was watching and saw that you got a lot of gobg, good old brit gear haha, the vests with the built in holster and map pockets etc are great, i have one in dpm camo, almost the same as your des cam one, also molle so i can move all the pouches around (which sometimes is a pain as there is the too much as to what goes where choice haha) the problem with your mag pouches not quite closing is because you got the mag buffers on which makes them a little taller than the sa80/m4 mags it is made for, i also saw highlander and bcb gear, some great items there, not just cos they are brit but because they are good kit and i carry as a field carry the rui tactical combat knife which is a really good blade, the belt cutter will work better when you have it on the seatbelt and pull down on it as it is designed to not cut without a fair bit of pull like against the force of a jammed belt as it is a fairly open blade, to save little inquisitive fingers...and some dumb big ones haha, i have a similar set up on my firefighters tool that i carry when the call goes out, it too wont doo much untill you get some force behind it, i have released crash victims from car wrecks with it, so give it another try see if it work with a static belt, apart from that little issue, the gear is all quality as far as i can see and reasonably priced, nice review thanks

SENSIBLEPREPPER .Cool box, but That headlamp sucks, you should look up the Coast 405 lumen 2 pack, 25 bucks right now, zoomable, has a high medium and low and a red, comes with batteries, and those headlamps are like 35+ bucks a piece, and you get 2 for 25... Buy them now, you won't regret it.

As an avid shooter and prepped in curious to know your comparison between the spec ops vs battle box and how you feel between the 2. Clearly one is geared more towards survival and one more towards tac gear.. I like both but still feel no one has actually put together the best of both worlds subscription box but I'm kinda leaning to the battle box being slightly better.. Can't help it I'm a guy and the monthly knife club deal is a big seller lol.. Can help it there is something about men and knives.. But from an actual usefulness all around value which do you prefer?

That company will be short lived cause they are to narrow minded in approach..Spec ops is the only company trying to play the middle ground... They were smart enough to use more universal gear which is cheaper quality stuff from all around the world that can serve multiple functions..

That tactical vest is old and not Official, it is made to the UK military standard and they were not common in 2003 onwards if soldiers bought their own but it was frowned on and a Regimental Sergeant Major would "Bitch slap individuals for turning up in Muffti kit"...but the lack of plate carrier meant everyone wore ECBA and hip based webbing because chest rigs are a bitch to use in combat when you hit the dirt...Unless of course you want to kneel up to get access to the pouches and get shot in the chest. These days 2011 onwards its MTP and Osprey / vertex kit.
