Thank you for the review! I'm a little curious why you felt like "cheating" if you waited for another player to take their turn. There IS a rule for this, so nobody should feel that way. The rule says (in slightly different wording): "If two or more players are waiting for each other to take their turns, the player with the lowest numbered supply board must go first". And if you have the lowest number, and the player with the highest number goes first, it's of course legal. Although it is meant to be simultaneous, the players do not necessary perform the actions at the exact same second. The rule is an easy way to quickly resolve "awkward moments" in the game, although it was used quite rarely during our hundreds of play tests.😀 Did you use that rule?

I think Rahdo had mentioned a house rule that I liked. Each player gets a d12 and puts the number on the pass board of what they want to take. when everyone is ready everyone reveals their d12. it might slow it a lil but still a fast game with some thought.

@@chilifoxgames824 I have not yet played this game so I am unsure about this comment. @11:26 The Dice Tower mention that looking ahead at another player's board might cause them to wait so they can see what is being passed to them. Rahdo in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5CofGx5l5mDpc0 mentions a similar possible problem. at 9:05 of that video Rahdo offers an idea to alleviate that. If that helps people enjoy the game more I do not see that as a bad thing.

The rules say that the player with the lowest numbered supply board goes first (if two or more players are waiting for each other). It is an easy way to resolve these "issues". But it is also important to mention that this rule was rarely used in our hundreds of play tests. It might happen towards the end of each round when there are fewer options. The reason why we did not experience this issue many times, is probably since you have a lot of good options anyway, also from your personal supply. Not sure if The Dice Tower used this rule or not, but anyway, we have a simple rule that fixes this quickly without using extra components. And with this rule, nobody should feel that they cheat. And if a player with a higher numbered supply board goes before you anyway, it's fine to use that information😀 This kind of interaction is an important part of the game (to see what is coming).

I wonder how it would work if you simultaneously draft off your personal board and then once everyone’s ready you draft off the shared boards at the same time.

I played it at the retreat last week and the best thing about this game is player count (up to 6). It is a solid med-light game.

Taverns of Tiefenthal has the same sort of simultaneous drafting thing. My rule when I play is that before each selection, everyone gets a moment to look around at what's available, and then we all draft simultaneously and you're not supposed to look/consider what others pick. Then we pass the coasters and repeat. I think it works fine

For the intro, I think if the music cuts in after Zee says “and the title is still weird to me” would have been funnier. Also, if the music continues to fade throughout introductions might be good.
