Im assuming you need the tv gamma set to 0 which is 2.2 for sony. If you want gamma at 2.4, you set ot to -2 in tv menu after you have calibrated at 0 in tv menu which is 2.2.

Is there any way to get back calman setting. My pro1 and pro2 is gone After i was in setting and change something? Some way to load saved calman setting?

Cinema mode is best idk why you wouldn't use it and the features on sony tv is good i wouldn't mess with anything unless your one of those weired people. Keep everything on just turn down live colour low and cinea motion low thats it

In the last video the guy did a calibration for hdr as well, are you guys saying that you don’t need to do it ?

HDR calibration is derived from SDR on Sony displays but the last video did cover Dolby Vision which is its own picture mode altogether.

@@jeff_stephen so do I need to recalibrate Dolby vision or will parts of that adjust according to changes to sdr like for example white point. Also why didn’t he sue 2.4 gamma as a target for sdr?

@@dvdtv1234 For accuracy you should. 👀 As for gamma, common practice is to dial in the settings during calibration at 0 (2.2) then adjust to desired gamma post-cal. -2 would be 2.4.

Since Sony Bravia OLED TVs don´t have a internal pattern generator, can I use DaVinci Resolves pattern generator (via HDMI) in combination with Calman Home for Sony?

Calman Home doesn't support using Resolve as a pattern generator, you'd want to upgrade to Studio to unlock that. But you wouldn't want to just use the HDMI out on your laptop as you wouldn't be getting an accurate reference signal, so you'd want to use an Ultrastudio. If you already have all that, thats one thing, if not it would be way cheaper to just get a pattern generator like the G1 or something.

Our previous A95L tutorial was aimed at Calman Ultimate users, this one is targeted at beginners using Calman Home.

@@wallyj2000 No. That's why there's different versions. Home is very bare bones as it's geared for beginners. You get more features as you move up to Studio & Ultimate.

Just tried calibrating my Sony A95L with the C6 and G1 pattern generator. What an utterly miserable experience. Works OK until I tried to run the Calman for Bravia app which just causes the screen to go black. When you try to disconnect the TV from Calman, Calman just hangs. When it finally did respond and I tried to re-run the workflow from the start, it produced ridiculous errors in the pre-calibration read. Power cycled everything and tried the process all over again. Same result. 3 hours wasted.

Update: If you run into this problem , try clearing the cache on the Calman for Bravia app. I did that tonight and the autocal ran flawlessly. Further update: the problem actually occurs if you run the app from the input bar at the bottom of the screen. If you run it from the Home Screen on the A95L, it should work fine.
