I'm not sure how you meant it, but it comes across as arrogant to state you're the only one who fully appreciates Robert's work. I think there's more than enough people that do, hence the over 11K subscribers.

Again and again your videos are so hands on helpful for me. You're showing the modules in practical use more than a tutorial. Yes, they are informative, but most of all so blissfully inspiring ! Sold my Panharmonium a while back, but it seems Spectraphon is the worthy substitute I've been waiting for... 🎶 Keep on keeping on 🎶 Thank you!!

@CinematicLaboratory
@CinematicLaboratory Жыл бұрын
I am not familiar with the Syntakt, but I've seen many great performances with the Syntakt sequencing a modular case. So I guess you could sequence the SP and run Syntakt's own audio through it.

great video thank you! thinking about replacing my DPO with this module? do you think the same sounds + more are doable with the spectraphon?
@CinematicLaboratory
@CinematicLaboratory Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't think so. In many occasions you'd want to start with a saw, square or triangle for the FM and Mod bus and let's not forget the wavefolder and individual outputs. In SP the dual sine outputs are unaffected by the FM bus, which is also a 'bummer' - but by design. The range of sounds from the SP is completely different. I'll make an episode 02 before the SP is in stores and run DPO through the SP. It will probably sound amazing in parallel with SP as an extra sonic layer.
@CinematicLaboratory
@CinematicLaboratory Жыл бұрын
So the bad news is: you'll need a bigger case.

awesome vide, what does "direct case output" mean though when theres the "LIVE" in the upper right corner?
@CinematicLaboratory
@CinematicLaboratory Жыл бұрын
This video has a lot of post production composing with multi track layers. When there's a 'live' indicator, it means it's direct case output with no post production tricks. What you hear is what you get.

I'm still unclear on the difference between spectra and harmonics. Would anyone like to ELI5? So if I record the spectra of a violin and then run a human voice through it, the result would be something like a violin that can talk?

Anyone could compare its with Panharmonium?
@CinematicLaboratory
@CinematicLaboratory Жыл бұрын
I did some research while making this video (watching videos) and I am under the impression that Panharmonium's engine is smoother and more advanced than the SP. I also love the dry/wet mix so you can layer spectra over the original source. It's also easier to work with presets. However - SP offers two spectral engines and an FM bus. So again it comes down to the music you'd love to make. the Pan is great for ambient textures, the SP has a wider range of applications and is closer to a normal dual VCO. Regardless, I have an eye on the Panharmonium but I could not find them new or used. I hope this speculation helps a bit.
