It can be an adventure to find puzzles in the Middle East. I live in Doha, Qatar 🇶🇦 and in case any reading this lives there. The best place I found for puzzles in terms of price and selection is FNAC at Lagoona. Borders and Virgin Megastore also has them (Festival City.) Ravensburgers are twice the cost of Trefls and Clemontis. Trefls seem to be the most common here.

Thank you so much for the tips where to get puzzles in Qatar! In Finland bigger stores sell all puzzles basically for the same price. The price depends on the piece amount and not the brand. We also have Trefls but not as much as Clementonis, Ravensburgers and more local puzzle brands. ☺️

@@puzzlewithemilia We don’t have any local brands , which would be awesome, but some of the smaller shops will import really cheaply made puzzles. Unfortunately those puzzles use poorly rendered copies of images from the more popular puzzle brands and the quality of the puzzles is horrific. I love puzzle shopping in Europe due to the abundance and variety of available puzzles.

It's all very well trying to guess what you may get in the competition. It could turn out to be images that never crossed your mind. 🧠 You will just have to accept what comes your way and do the best you can. Karen puzzles did a video speculating on what puzzles could appear. For the finals of course they use unreleased puzzles that no-one will have seen as they wouldn't be available until next year. Just enjoy yourself and do the best you can.

I think it’s a habit here in Finland. Even our high school teachers give us list of (speculated) possible questions for the final matriculation exams. Usually they are quite right. Also when I played sports in the national team, we always had every possible scenario mapped out. To me it brings somehow peace of mind but as you said you still have to accept whatever comes on your way. ☺️

Let me know what do you think the competition puzzle will be! And here's a link to next week's live streaming: www.youtube.com/@worldjigsawpuzzlefederatio7408

I like your logic! I voted Art thinking it would be less well known art, but I think your Landscape guess is better. Good luck in Spain!

@@themopieYeah you are right with that. I think it also depends what they consider as art. I guess in theory everything "handmade" like paintings, illustrations and designs are considered art in some level... or everything. :D Hard to say. I know literally nothing about art so it's also a little bit confusing to me! I also think art as a theme makes a hard puzzle and I know WJPF aims that most people are able to finish the puzzle in that 90mins timeframe.

Djeco are expensive in Denmark, but not hard to get. I got 3 with a low piece count (200-350) and a panorama 1000 piece with owls and birds

Never seen these in Finland!

They mostly make kids puzzles, maybe that's why? They are soooo good
@puzzlewithemilia Жыл бұрын
That could make sense. In Finland we also have a small market so we don't even have some of the biggest brands.

Tip: Look at camera, not yourself. Then you will be communicating with your viewers.

Hey Sam! I was first like what are you even talking about because I don’t have one of those cameras with flippable screen. So I’m never able to even see myself - only the person who would be behind camera. But then I realised this is the video I took on during travel where I didn’t have my usual camera and audio set. You’re absolutely right, this was filmed in a selfie mode on with my phone. However. I think even with my usual set (that doesn’t allow me to see myself) I don’t look exactly at camera. That’s because I have been working on TV and movie productions where there is this one specific rule to NEVER ever look at camera. I most likely look automatically at the nearest person or object on either side of the camera as I have learned to do years ago. But this is a good tip, thank you. I will pay some attention to it. :)
